I continue to have a beef with this misnomer. In this case, the insulin is not inhaled, it is nasally instilled. It is meant to pass through the thin nasal mucosa and directly target the olfactory nerve (a direct extension of the brain). The insulin in this case is NOT meant to be carried deep into the lungs.
