Sometimes a trader finds a trend and rides it until it stops. Hedge funds the same thing. Used to be more prevalent I think. He would get paid every year until the trend returned to normal. Sometimes the trend would reverse and he’d loose more than he got paid riding it in the first place. But he already banked his compensation. Too bad for shareholders/imvestora.
SO found a trend and is ridinh it. A small company struggling to sell a new drug and stay solvent. Usually Aged Hippie speaks in generalities (except with diabetes which he knows a lot about). But he nailed it in his post above.
SO will be right about MNKD until he’s not right anymore. He’ll not find another trend like this again. He’s having his “15 minutes”.

SO might also be Looking for Diogenes. One thing is for sure, the use of ALL CAPS TO MAKE A POINT is consistent with the person who used to post as BAGHOLDER_HUMPER and FRAG and who in my opinion is a paid basher.

“He is simply making the other side of the argument”.. WHY?? If he claims to not be shorting the stock, or discloses he is t compensated in anyway (don’t tell me about the chump change he makes from SA) All I ever wanted was an answer to that question?! Why? One logical explanation might be that he is looking for opportunity to build a reputation for himself that might be parlayed into something of value. It would certainly look good if he cautions about MNKD as investment during this prolonged period of turmoil and dilution and then were to switch his view and say buy, buy, buy right before a sustained multi-year run up. But attributing that to him would be a pure guess. Obviously none of us can know, unless willing to put in a lot of detective work. It has been discussed here before, probably most people forgot or missed it at the time, but SO already had a long track record of covering stocks long before he ever wrote about MNKD. He has over 1800 articles at SA. He has been contributing there since 2007. He had (still has?) an investor related radio show. IIRC, he was an early investor in Sirius. AFAIK, he does cover MNKD more than he does other companies today, but he still covers a few others. But the vast majority of his articles are prior to 2016 and the vast majority of those are not about MNKD.

Looking at what is currently happening, MNKD is being pushed around to drive revenue for people who are working the top/bottom of the trend. Good news happens (12.5M), MNKD is pushed up as the bashers back off, or even promote. Time passes with no other good news, shorting starts, bad news happens (or is generated/exaggerated, aka scripts), bashers come back, stock drops to "support".
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Another why question I might ask concerning your theory is why are many short seller very vocal about their short positions but it seems you think there are big boys behind shorting MNKD that for some reason remain silent. Often if a hedge fund is attacking a company, they say they are and get all over TV talking about it. It lends credibility to a call to short a stock if the person saying it has actually bet their own money on the position, just as it does with people talking up a stock. Is paying SO to write articles on SA really going to have bigger influence than if some successful hedge fund manager got on CNBC and bad mouthed Afrezza? To my knowledge I don't even think SO has said he thinks MNKD should be shorted, merely that there are still risks for a long position. Please do correct me if he's actually recommended shorting MNKD. If those big boys who are behind shorting have a vested interest in seeing MNKD fail, such as other drug companies, needle/syringe manufacturers, etc....they sure as hell ain't gonna advertise the fact and would use PAID shills to do their dirty work......

So you think SO is actually in command of large sums of money and is the one behind the shorting? For the sake of discussion, I'll assume Sanofi is behind a campaign to kill Afrezza through illegal share price manipulation. Sanofi isn't going to use their own accounts to do that shorting as that's a paper trail of illegality. I'd assume they'd enlist hedge fund(s). Hedge funds have the financial resources and could be out in the open about shorting, talking openly about how bad MNKD management and Afrezza are (what they'd want to say, not my opinion). Even, if it is SO doing shorting, it would carry even more weight for many people if he effectively said "I think MNKD is in trouble, in fact I'm so convinced of it I have a large short position". He doesn't to me come across as some mastermind key player. I'd guess at worst he just has some buddies on Wall Street telling him that the smart money is still not behind MNKD, and thus contributing to his negative sentiment. If this is BP effort, I certainly think they could do better than two bit blogger on a free site for non professional traders. I'll make that my last contribution for now on this topic as SO really isn't a factor in my view of MNKD.

I was talking about his Siriusbuzz SIRIUS XM SATELLITE RADIO NEWS site. Perhaps those were all written articles about radio, and I'm confused in thinking they were broadcasts so to speak. "Spencer Osborne is founder of Satellite Standard Group [SSG], and a partner of Sirius Buzz (http://siriusbuzz.com/). Sirius Buzz covers the satellite radio industry as well as companies that do business in this sector. Sirius Buzz provides information and opinion to readers with an interest in the sector from an investment, as well as consumer perspective." Maybe Sirius Buzz was never anything much, I don't really know. But my original point was really more that the guy has been around writing / talking about a variety of stocks much longer than most (most, certainly not all) here have been invested in MNKD.

Good point. I've never assumed paid bashers only bashed (and/or pumped) one stock in their "career". I mean, if you're going to earn a living being unethical because you can, why only do it for one company/product? I'm not saying SO is a paid basher (but I've certainly wondered about it).

There is this weird fascination with SO as some sort of boogeyman. If things were going well, nobody would even be mentioning him. But things are not going as planned, so people are looking for reasons and excuses why it is not. Here's a hint, Mike and management are much more responsible for our investment than SO, so stop obsessing over him.

Point taken, but he wrote about satellite radio on a blog - he didn't have a radio show. SPENCER OSBORNE (WRITER)
After investing the satellite radio sector Spencer became a fan of the service and has been hooked ever since. As satellite radio grew he found himself seeking more and more information about Sirius and XM as well as the companies that do business with them. After realizing that the information he truly needed was not readily available, Spencer began to write about satellite radio in 2006 and has never looked back. siriusbuzz.com/about
