Whoo, hoo! I'm doing handstands right now that my put options for Saturday are actually making money. Of course after the SNY presentation, with this stock, they will most probably be a huge loser...lol. At any price, I'm clearly buying more!

I have been noticing it (Im truckie). Last Friday a large amount of the OI on the $7/$8 puts were bought. Someone dropped about 1mil, and with only 5 days expiration, thats alot of money unless they had some serious conviction it was going to drop. My gut is (and has been) that there is some short thesis being prepped in concert with a bear raid. I'm starting to think thats going to come during the conference itself, or at least on Thursday. Shrug, just a guess like everyone else. But I felt worth bringing up. Doesn't seem as if this is some brilliant manipulator because obviously if this is something for which they control the timing of this "attack", they would have done far better to have held off and bought those puts now rather than last Friday. Seems like a smart manipulator would be benefiting from the run up to SNY meeting and flip to short position right before a release of info misrepresenting the SNY presentation as clear evidence Afrezza will be a failure.

These are the best indicators that I have found in the absence of real news. When the brokers ask to borrow shares or raise the interest rate they are offering it is time to buy (and conversely to sell when they return shares or lower the interest rate.) And when Pfeffer's sell orders are triggered it is time to take some profits.

It sure seems to me that the institutions are outsmarting the shorts. The institutions keep buying shares and then turn around and loan them to the shorts for 17% interest or sell high priced LEAP's which expire worthless. What do the institution know that the shorts don't know? I think the answer is Al Mann and/or high powered research teams. It's also possible that some institutions are getting a little ammo from their relationships with Sanofi. IMO, the impending squeeze on the hapless shorts will be one of Al Mann's most treasured memories. I wouldn't be surprised if this squeeze is triggered by an announcement that Sanofi has taken a 5% stake in MNKD. Also squeezes don't always happen fast, .50 a day for a couple of weeks would look like a squeeze to me. OK, I am probably wrong about all of this, but I can assure you that the shorts are not comfortable with institutional ownership being up 6 million shares last quarter to 94,842,527. BTW Baba, I'm so obsessed with this crap that I actually remembered that number. spiro, you said .50 a day for a couple of weeks, did you mean .05 a day? of course, i love the idea of .50 a day for a couple of weeks, just seems too good to really hope for.

I am hoping SNY promotes Afrezza with one of their awesome power point presentations & some details with where they are headed with it ( marketing, release date etc...). Then Al & company release info on Friday about Technosphere & where it is headed ! Hoping for a great rest of the week!

Cretin11, There are 2 Spiro's. The conservative Spiro thinks we will see a lot of .50 days when the shorts gradually get out. But the crazy Spiro thinks that there will be a lot of $1. plus days mixed in as the hapless shorts are crushed by the smarter institutions. The shorts have the noose around there necks now and when Sanofi and Al are ready, the rope will tighten. Both Spiro's think that will occur at sometime in 2015.

You may get the first, and I'll assume you're throwing in the second wish (which based on previous statements from the company about how long the review of technosphere opportunities will take is one we know will not happen) so that you keep an even keel by mixing in some medicine with your spoonful of sugar, so to speak?

Since it is close to XMAS, yes I am writing Santa & hoping for the best! Last time Matt Pfeffer was hoping for an early Christmas present and Al Mann was giving a $16 million interview to Bloomberg when he was on a Hawaiian vacation...we got nothing but coal (spelled CRL). I guess if you sold on 12/24/10 you would have been a happy camper.

I am curious to see if they try. And even more curious to see if they succeed. If neither happen, that too, would be telling. And maybe Crazy Spiro's projections will prevail ....

Frankly, we would need a couple of price target upgrades from some major investment firms to fuel a major rally. But when will the Generals take command of this battlefield stock? The 'tutes stand to make big money from their accumulation of shares. It's just a matter of time.
It's all about earnings (projected). The consensus currently is a 1-yr target above $9.
