Importantly, if anybody is in contact with anu of the Afrezza users on twitter, please tell them if they want to reach and help diabetics (and not just investors) then they need to include diabetes related hashtags like #T1DM, #T2DM, #diabetes, etc...
I fear that the great insights they are currently providing are not reaching the diabetic masses because of this.

I try to monitor afrezza-related twitter traffic when I can, and although there has been a noticeable uptick over the last couple of weeks due to launch, I'd love to see some of the great info posted by afrezzauser, in particular, reach its intended audience.

Did you read Ken's first post? He decided to only post the opinions of those who are doubting Afrezza.

It looks like afrezzauser has already implemented your suggestion that he use different hashtags to make sure he reaches the diabetic community. He tweeted this late this morning: Eat big serving of chicken fried rice at 12:30. Took 8u of #Afrezza. No sugar spike! Flat lined! #diabetes #t1dm #t2dm

There is a discussion unfolding on facebook right now and I see one question that keeps on popping up from DM patients. It would be great if someone like Afrezzauser could explain, with the credibility of first hand experience, that the pk profile negates the need for precise dosing. Below comment on Facebook discussion at www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=5457479962&v=wall&story_fbid=10150510529799963Julian Hermanson Dilorenzo How come just 4 and 8 units? That's not very specific Type 1 Diabetics can require as little as less than a unit to more than 10 units for some depending on the blood sugar and food or amount of Carbs being eaten. Plus when will this be an option in USA ?how come doctors don't push these new products if they are FDA approved already? It's been about a year or so right since this Inhaler has been attempted... I really want this if it works!!!

I really want this if it works!!! I agree that the dosing question is a big issue for diabetics. With current insulins they are used to dialing in a very precise dose and trying to exactly hit their target. The patients on diabetes forums are generally proud of their ability to control their blood sugar so well. I would like to hear a clear, concise explanation of why dosing is not critical with Afrezza, and you can always just take a little more if needed. Of course this does not mean that any investors should be posting on diabetes message boards. They should not.

Not that I condone the practice, but the Facebook discussion seems a bit more tolerant of the people that seem pretty clearly there to "promote". I'm pretty sure the woman that felt that "you should also know" that Mannkind invented Afrezza is likely selling Mannkind as investment as much as Afrezza as a treatment.

If I were to go on one of those boards, I would admit right up front that I was not a diabetic and that I have been a shareholder in MNKD since the IPO. And, I'd admit that my reason for posting was two fold, first to promote the company, and second to at least expose Afrezza to diabetics as the only reason I held the stock through thick and thin is that I felt it would be very successful, and the reason for that is that it seemed to be something very positive for diabetics.
No plans to go on any boards, just sayin'.

I sent afrezzauser an e-mail asking if he'd send a tweet out about the dosing limitations. We'll see what happens.

After a crazy day at work , I just half a** skimmed thru that Facebook post and it occurred to me that Afrezza has barely been on the market a WEEK & it's great to see Diabetics curiosity peaked . We've spent years ( some more than others ) dissecting everything Mannkind & Afrezza . This conversation is only getting started amongst the Diabetic community and the answers will come to them , just as they did to us . I did see Afrezza's user's AdCom testimonial as well as his Afrezza video shared on that thread. Imagine living with a disease that controls your life 24/7 & suddenly something pops up that seems like it can simplify your life and help you actually Live your Life rather than live your life around trying to manage your disease . You'd have a lot of ?'s and probably be a bit skeptical , sounds " too good to be true " ect .. I hope this post makes sense as I had my butt kicked by a lil 3 pounder today !!!And am brain fried !! But it was well worth the beating <3 Those who want to will find the answers they seek & it should start w/ a visit with their Doc , exciting times for Mannkind , today is only Feb 9th , my mom was asking me yesterday for a resource for her coworker who's a type 1 , I emailed her Afrezzausers video & she just said WOW!! I can't wait to show her this !! Her co worker has a pump that stops working ect ... Word will spread , just give it more than 8 days ,) "If we ( Al Mann) build it they will come " I've no doubt ( but knock on wood ,)) that this will ( eventually ) be the best selling Drug in History and I don't even need to mention the Pandora's box that is Technosphere . The above mentioned Facebook post has been shared 361 times and garnered 634 likes, all within a few hours. It's now up to 702 shares and has garnered 1,220 Likes. Seems like a lively conversation. But I also wish I had a short explanation of why dosing is so different (ideally, linked to authoritative online source). Why is it, someone who would ordinarily need 1 unit of injected can be just fine with 4 units of Afrezza..?? -- 4Balance
