The 4th Middle East Diabetes Conference will feature an exciting programme which endeavors to address the latest key issues in diabetes from clinical care to social aspects. What’s new in 2016?

For the first time, the agenda will cover all types of diabetes; type 2, type 1, monogenic diabetes mellitus and diabetes in pregnancy. It will highlight the new forms of therapies; SGLT-2 inhibitors and inhaled insulin as well as common complications. Another focus will be on the specifics of diabetes in the Middle East; treatment during the Ramadan, during travel (Haj), and the use of bariatric surgery in children.

I'd imagine ME countries may accept FDA or EMA approved drugs. Why can't Sny target such countries first?

The U.S. health care is fragmented by many insurances and PBMs; whereas, may EU, ME countries have National Health Care/Single Payor. See my post below.

It'd be easier to expand to ME countries first (National health Care/single Payor, possibly FDA approval is accepted), then EU (National health Care/single Payor, EMA approval is requuired).

Al Mann's fatherland is Israel. He has lots of connections there. Launching Afrezza in Israel first in ME would be a good idea.
