Community Member Featured in Afrezza DocumentaryJeremy_Fultz Hi, My name is Jeremy Fultz and I am an independent filmmaker making a documentary about diabetes and afrezza. I have interviewed several people who live with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and all have said the same thing: "It has changed my life and changed the game on living with the fight against diabetes. Attached is the first trailer released, and features one of your very own TuDiabetes community members! My hope is this encourages every person touched by diabetes to get talking to their doctors and asking about options and afrezza. You may wonder why I am doing this? It is quite simple: I just want to help. The link is below. Jeremy_Fultz3d Great question. I am still conducting interviews with experts and doctors but hope to wrap that up in the next month with a tentative release in the fall (Sept-Oct) I hope. But I will continue to release trailers as I go just to help keep getting the word out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8RIPt6HJG4

The advertisement campaign, of sorts. Yippee. Afrezza users talking. Sometimes the people can take matters into their own hands.
We are the clients, the physicians the tools. Use the tools.
(Off topic. My words, in general I have a very high regard for physicians. I have begun to question the thinking of some physicians these days. Do you see how many radioactive x-rays todays physicians are ordering as preventative. I am questioning everything.)

So the second voice in the trailer, was it Mike Castagna and was he speaking from an interview for this documentary, or was what he said in the documentary recorded from other than an interview for this documentary?

Most follow a strict standard of care and wont risk veering away from that easily.... the great doctors are the ones who reach beyond boundaries and continue to progress.. there aren't many of those... and they are all very very busy in a system that has its troubles.. I don't know how our health care system can continue on this path.. with rising health care costs and insurance companies that don't want to pay....
But this possible documentary is very exciting... lots of people pulling for Afrezza..

Why exciting, are you a fan of his other work? www.imdb.com/title/tt2265591/www.imdb.com/name/nm2348679/I've nothing against Jeremy Fultz at all. I'm not knocking him. Apparently he has the chops, and he is in the film industry. He also has several thousand followers on twitter, so he is not a complete unknown. But as documentarians go he is not a Michael Moore, Ken Burns, Werner Herzog, or even a Dinesh D'Souza. He's talking about putting together a documentary about diabetes and Afrezza and its benefits. It doesn't sound at all as though he is planning any expose of Sanofi. And as he is planning to have this done by September / October, I think the most we can expect is a collection of feel good motivational stories. So while the documentary might be popular among Afrezza users and Mannkind investors, but I do not think it will have much mass market appeal / impact. And if I am proven wrong, I am totally okay with that.

Within this story there are other stories.. like how our pharma companies operate... the state of our health care system.. Ive certainly learned a lot from this... as Peppy stated we should be questioning everything because there is certainly much to question about the quality, integrity and moral issues concerning all of it..
Do you watch Netflix documentaries?? Very few of them come from people like Michael Moore and yet reach a wide audience just the same.. in fact because we have such a large diabetic population.. this documentary could reach quite a few people and attract attention...
Am I hanging my hat on a documentary solving all of our problems? Certainly not... but the possibility is still exciting just the same... we don't need Michael Moore... If there is any kind of quality to this documentary it certainly could have an impact regardless of who does it..

I just saw a 60 second Tujeo commercial. It's obvious Sanofi decided to never market Afrezza. Furious. Unethical SOBs. If Afrezza is to be taken seriously speak of the positives and stop pointing t Fingers at whose to blame for its failures

reply: I think type one diabetics talk to and believe other type one diabetics.
It is a dis ease that the diabetic truly understands and that lay people do not understand, in terms of the delayed effect of analogue insulin, dosing of insulin, carbohydrate counting and the long insulin tail. There is safety talking among them selves. The rest of us are a bit diabetes stupid.

I suspect the Netflix documentaries you are talking about have more backing, and are not as rushed (getting it done by Sep/Oct), as this one is apparently going to be. Yes, the points you raise about how pharma companies operate, the state of the health care system, etc., are certainly deserving of a documentary. But based on what Jeremy Fultz said, I do not think that any of those topics are his focus. And, again, with such a short time frame, he really could not do those topics justice anyway.

So many documentaries about pharma. Part 1: The Roots - Robert Whitaker - Psychiatric Epidemic - PsykoVision CPH - May 14, 2014 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R6MXO2j0V0 Part 2 : www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNvCyUC_LPc You tube full of them. The situation is very bad.
