His analogy of learning to ride a bicycle is fantastic. I wish the title of the clip was not "Why Doctors Won't Prescribe Afrezza?" This implies none will and could scare any newbie away from trying it or even asking about it. It should be changed to "Why SOME Doctors Won't Prescribe Afrezza?"

I'm also thinking maybe this is part one. IDK This is what it's seems like to me...doc's don't want to see reps. Don't have time like Bill said, and are scared of the new. Patient demand has to come first. Then send in the reps to help with insurance letters, samples, dosing. So advertising is more important than feet on the ground IMO. Send the reps to the GP's. No point in saying, " ask your doctor if Afrezza is right for you?" Maybe, "Call MNKD for a sample today!" Then a rep could be sent to the persons doctor of choice. IDK, just thinking out loud... The bottom line:-)) We need Afrezza clinics everywhere!

This is what really bothers me. "Doctors are too busy to learn." "They see a patient every five minutes." That tells me that the doctor is not only not learning about new medications that could potentially help their patients but even worse, they are not learning anything about their patient. They're essentially running an insurance billing machine. Get as many patients through the door as possible to bill as much as possible (and prescribe as much as possible) to insurance companies with no real regard for the health of the patient while protecting themselves from liability. What ever happened to really caring for and treating people? For getting to know them, understand their lifestyle and habits that could be impacting their health, giving them treatment options and ideas for changing habits and improving their lives? No wonder we have a health care crisis in this country. We aren't treating people, we're running billing machines under the guise of health care. And all this means we are paying more and more for the very care that we're not receiving. And then people complain about the cost of insurance going up because they're not really being treated. Ugh! I will step down from my soapbox now with one last thought. Afrezza in my mind is not just a treatment, it's a solution. One that doctors are ignoring due to the situation outlined above.

She also tells me they don't see reps. Park Nicolet, it used to be an HMO, remember HMO's? In the 1980's medications with this HMO used be gotten at their Park Nicolet pharmacy. You wouldn't think that would be a pain in the ass.
I see they named their diabetes department, especially. oh, haha.
