And he'll probably be 100% healthy with no ill effects from diabetes right up until the time he is truly cured

The parents were so knowledgeable, they allowed their son Afrezza. "Afrezza, less torture, better life." They love him.

God bless them for their rare wisdom. That kid is amazingly lucky. I'm a T2 using Afrezza (intermittently - cannot afford it often). I believe Afrezza for T2's, while good and effective for some or many, cannot really compare to its effectiveness for T1 diabetics. Soon Afrezza should be the GOLD STANDARD for T1s. Non-compliant doctors should be horse-whipped or displayed in stocks on the public square as in olden times. I'm being a bit cute but I really mean it for T1s. Most T1s are not insulin resistant like so many T2s. Nearly every single T1 diabetic who has no lung problems should be using Afrezza right now. In general T1s require much, much less insulin than T2s. Sadly, moving the opinion of the AMA and doctors en masse is like trying to quickly turn an ocean liner on a dime. Cannot be done. It's been 45 years since Dr. Atkins so famously came out with his version of low carb diets. Doctors are just now beginning to acknowledge the harm and the danger of our Western super-high-carb diet. Even now the ridiculously stupid Amer Diabetes Assn says it's fine for diabetics to go ahead and eat 60 carbs per meal. Insane. Unforgivable. Talk about gross negligence in a legal sense. Head-shakingly unbelievable. We will be lucky to see 15% of T1s using Afrezza even 10 years from now. I HOPE that maybe 50% of T1s will be on Afrezza by then... for their sake. Of course it would help if MNKD would price Afrezza reasonably. I say again if they cut the price in half, sales would FAR more than double. Maybe triple, maybe quadruple, maybe more. And then of course word of mouth advertising by diabetics themselves would grow like weeds. If MNKD were smart enough to reduce costs of insulin below those of injectables for the insurers, well then we'd see accelerating sales that make current levels laughable. MNKD could seize a very significant piece of the action if it were smart enough to do so. Too bad MNKD cannot see that.

Look at what came out in the news this week about the genetic cancer treatment-FDA approved! no less. Diabetes is next. The epitope stuff out of UK is moving in a very similar path. they need a plan to get through the next 5 or 10 years before its all over. The competition will be brutal. Bulls, bears and pigs will be slaughtered alike.

I'm hopeful Mr. Lizard will soon be back to his happy self that he was when he first joined this forum. Many my not remember a happy lizard. But in the meantime I am very happy for those that Afrezza is helping.

That's right:-) And why people don't get very far flip flopping or hedging their bets. I had a CEO in training with me for 20 years. ( Mail order company ) He told me he really didn't believe in diversification or a plan B. I'm thinking that's how Al was also:-) Tom was "focused" on getting Afrezza for his son. And has no doubts about its success.
