I’m visiting family in Claremont, CA just down the road from Pasadena. Daytime high yesterday was about 82. Today’s high will be low 80s. But we need rain bad.

The 16 day GFS forecast models went through a step change yesterday. Had been very skeptical on any moisture reaching us right out to Jan 13. I check them everyday. Been forecasting dry for weeks! Then of a sudden yesterday they switch to a weird moisture tap EAST of Hawaii and cutoff low that will keep rain chances over state from Jan 2 through Jan 8. BUT!!! I have not checked it today so might have been flukey?

Wish I could send you some of our Michigan snow to help you out.

boca1girl ... move to Hawaii. Nice weather year long with the trade winds blowing. The trade winds makes the difference between humid Florida and Hawaii. AND, we don't have to contend with the mouse or duck here. Unless you really want it and stay at the Disney resort here.
As for the rain, we had a super heavy day of rain on the 26th with trailing rainy bouts later. So, you might get that rain yet. Hope so ... and have a great New Year!

As far as the ashes falling down ...
I remember back in kindergarten where the teacher corrected us and said ... "NO! The words aren't "ah sh.." we all fall down ... it's ashes! ashes!!!
Wow ... teachers going off the wall with little kids is oh so wrong. And as little kids, we continue singing the song the same way because we love watching the animated teachers. Ha!

"She's rearing up." mytakeonit, sitting on an outdoor patio in Maui, I remember the gasp when I saw the rat vertical on the brick wall. Hawaii so beautiful. We took a day and drove to the wet side of Maui.....it rained. UPDATE 12/18/2017 CA FIRES BLATANT INYOUR FACE www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrKG84pwVao

peppy - When you see the rat wearing a tuxedo then it's okay. Standing up on a wall isn't. Oh so bias ...
Hopefully you can eliminate the block using the side of a piece of chalk. Then your fires will be gone.
Are you on Maui now? Remember to catch that rat and put it on some skewers and throw it on the hibachi. Ahhh ... great pupus.

Waikiki was a learning experience. in the early 1990's. All the hookers had cell phones. They looked darn good. You are correct, the rat would have looked better in a tuxedo. I can't afford Maui.

Peppy - You don't have to buy the island ... just visit. Maui was the hippy go to island for all the smoke heads. No wonder you like it !

I’ve been to Hawaii a few times (Oahu, Hawaii, and Maui) and your state is beautiful, but too far from family on the east coast for me to live out there. And the mouse and duck live three hours NW of Boca so I can visit when I want but am not bothered by them.
