Anyone know of this service?

My company just started offering it to their employees. Looks like it could be a UHC knock-off of VDEX.

It's the first of many. I can see insurers going down this path because it will reduce strip usage. You only give the patient what they use. This will dramatically cut down wastage and the number of strips on ebay. The coaching side is already offered by Aetna and Cigna at least.

Interesting that they don't seem to be going after patients who might choose to pay out of pocket as OneDrop is. I wonder how many health plans they have agreements with and whether some plans are choosing to offer multiple options of these types of services such as Livingo and Onduo. That doesn't seem likely to me, so I'd think it will be a race between these companies to get insurers on board. If some like Aetna and Cigna ( agedhippie) already have the coaching component, are they likely to keep it in house or outsource to one of these providers.

Getting good HEDIS results can be worth millions to insurers, and a problem measure like Diabetes can be very expensive to manage in-house and get good results with. Many "smaller" insurance companies have diagnosis-based tracking and phone outreach. Which is probably a lot more expensive than $75 per uncontrolled diabetic member per month. This is probably why OneDrop is working so hard to prove their A1c results.
