Sanofi terminated all hospital and long-term care reps on Thursday. Merck and Lilly also had major rep layoffs in the past two months. There seems to be a trend to move away from reps. How many reps are really needed to get their drugs on CVS-Caremark and Express Rx formularies? This is an industry paradigm shift affecting Mannkind and all drug companies. With Amazon and others eyeing this market, other major changes are likely coming as well.
