Looks like the 13M share at the close was the re-balance...

How did all those shares trade and the price move so relatively little? Did shorts perhaps cover and their shares were sold to the funds?

So almost 20M shares moves ... but, when you look at the activity it doesn't show major shares trading. What's with that?
Wait a minute ... let me look at my account to see how many shares I have now. Yep, there's the 13M !!!

How did all those shares trade and the price move so relatively little? Did shorts perhaps cover and their shares were sold to the funds? Deerfield had the option to convert some of its debt to about 9.5 million shares at $2.01. So did they just do that? If they just acquired 9.5 million new shares, will they hold them to participate in a ride upward OR will the the sons-o-bitches use them to short MNKD into Hell?

Most index funds have to hold the index participants at the close of regular trading. A few will start to buy a hour or more before the close, most do it in the run up to the close. The price usually comes right back down if its all index trading, and when last I looked it was down to $1.90 in the AH session.

At 3.50 EST 4.5 Million shares traded at 3.55 5.6 million shares traded at 3.59 6.5 million at 3:59:59 7.25 million
at 4:00 plus a few seconds 19.9 million shares traded
I think it likely the Index Funds were traded and included within the first 7.25 million at 3:59:59.
The next 11 to 12 million shares may very well be Deerfield.
Thanks for the transparency MNKD management. Are you helping Deerfield hose us again?

After Hours Volume: 1,848,612
All the volume traded at around 2.00 except the last 13,000 or so that dragged it back down to 1.90 AH. LOLOL

IMHO those bastards will more than likely short again like they seem to have done every other time in the past.

I don't believe an option exercise would show on the tape. Possible Deerfield would of sold the shares in the darkpool that the Russel got their allocation short first and then cover to get cash. If that happend happy 5% additional dilution.

Why wouldn't they wait until the shares were way above $2 before converting? What would be their rush? Furthermore, if they did convert then I believe the shares would be coming from Mannkind directly and hence not show up in those volume numbers you posted.

Perhaps they didn't show up in the tape. I don't know.
Peppy said Realtime Volume was 29 million versus only 20 million NASDAQ Summary Volume. Maybe that difference is Deerfield? Wish I knew.
Something very odd seems to be happening. Seems more than the Russell re-balancing.
Retailers will of course not know until it's too late.

I saw a 500 share trade drop the price down to $1.96 ... that means that if kite had bought my 10 shares at $40 ... we would be popping champagne bottles !!!
