Something drove this decision to start spending now. IMO, this management team has very methodically rebuilt this company over the past year and it's not their style to suddenly make a desperation move and roll the dice with the possibility of major dilution being required. I'm hopeful Mike knows some level of cash is on its way, i.e. China deal, a significant RLS milestone, a partnership with TreT, possibly all three or even a surprise co-promotion domestic partnership. Regardless, this is setting up to be one of the most interesting quarters in Mannkind's history no matter which side you're on. GLTA

GLTA i agree with all you said akemp except the thing about major dilution. Like you said, the mt is very methodical and i think they are ready to dilute if they believe it is necessary to acheive their goal. That being said, i'm also hopeful and believe Mike knows some level of cash is on its way and hope it wont be the case.

We have 5.5 mos left in 2018. If Brazil gets approval Mike could drop a $5+MM shipment before EOY offsetting cash burn and getting closer to guidance. He knows more than he is telling about international sales.

Hi, CCI! I like your thoughts, however, the one "hope" of being able to obtain "significant debt financing," is, I believe, well out of our reach at any time in the near future - maybe at 1200-1500 scripts per week. Of course, there could be some convertible debt, but that's dilution, unless we're not successful, in which case, who cares. Another issue with financing is that so long as there is Deerfield debt, there is the question of priority, and a new lender, unless they take Deerfield's debt out, will likely subordinate to Deerfield's debt. As to the Mann entity, who knows what can be worked out there. Is it as hot where you are as down here? Hey Baba, sorry for not answering sooner. I had a busy day yesterday. I have no idea what kind of metric the financial institutions would look at to agree to offering debt. But it does seem that Mike and his team have a plan and are executing that plan. It may involve dilution as necessary but I know that cash is always at the top of the list of concerns for Mike. As far as hot. Here on the Central Coast of California, hot was the operative word. It made it over 100 yesterday. I spend the day pressure washing our wood deck and prepping our house for painting. The pressure washing was a good thing to do on a hot day. I hope all is well with you and that you have air conditioning to avoid the heat.

I think it is safe to say that most long term shareholders are still concerned about the cash that Mnkd has for ongoing operations. The beaten down share price doesn’t make it easy to raise cash in the market. Thus the concern about dilution. Further, advertising is expensive but it ultimately will be the salvation of Afrezza and MannKind. So Mike C. and Mnkd management have had to walk a razor thin tight rope of preserving cash and spending on advertising. So I have asked myself why the big push in advertising now? Some obvious answers come to mind: 1. With the ADA presentation still fresh in all of the Endo’s memories, now is the perfect time to get new people to ask their personal endocrinologists to try Afrezza. 2. It has been awhile since the test advertising campaign occurred and it was time to launch a bigger effort. Both of these are sound reasons to make a big push now. However, with cash probably getting low, wouldn’t it have been better to raise cash first and then begin the advertising push? Unless there was another underlying reason for a big advertising push besides what is mentioned above. What if part of the criteria for getting higher end financing hinged on proof of the advertising concept? For instance, what if over the next four weeks Mnkd could show that for every million spent there was a specified return on that money that was trackable? Then perhaps Mnkd could obtain debt financing instead of dilution. Financial institutions would need some hard proof that their investment had a reasonable chance of being paid back. What if those metrics showed that in a certain reasonable timeframe, Mnkd becomes cash self sufficient? Makng the payoff of debt much more assured. If significant debt financing could be secured with a payback out several years, the cash overhang issue would be resolved. Share price would inevitably go up making it far easier to raise money in the market. Instead of being in the cash death spiral we have been in, we end up being able to raise cash easily. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that scripts go up over the next couple of months. Because if they do, future financing may not be a problem. "1. With the ADA presentation still fresh in all of the Endo’s memories, now is the perfect time to get new people to ask their personal endocrinologists to try Afrezza."The pro-Afrezza data is probably getting attention as it circulates throughout the Endo community, but how many providers attended ADA? My understanding is that in recent years major Scientific Sessions have seen a significant decline in participants. That said, I don't disagree with your thinking. I think the main push at the ADA from Dr. Kendall’s perspective is getting published medical proof of Afrezza’s amazing properties out in front of the national medical community. It’s not just Endo’s that is the focus. It is also Primary Care Physicians. I know for a fact that my PCP is prescribing Afrezza and that he recently had a visit from a MannKind sales rep. My hope is that the higher tier financial institutions will look towards the future and see that MannKind is a good risk/reward situation and provide the needed financing. One can always hope.

63fury $MNKD You would think with the recent expansion of TV ads that cost big $, a partnership deal is announced soon.Get them while they’re cheap
NatesNotesJul 8th, 8:49 am and/or execution of the built-in capital raise that will take place if/when $MNKD climbs back above $2.38; a nice domino to have in line.

The clue towards the thinking starts with hiring a chief marketing executive I think! Management may be counting on some foreign sales to help fund national commercials. This company isn't over yet, or else Deerfield and substantial hedge funds would be pulling their funds and getting out soon as possible. The stock market doesn't value mankind for what the entirety of its assets it has patents and tax shelter for days! Mannkind is still rebuilding and getting its word out there which is a slow process that may not turn out to be the lotto ticket I hope for it to be, but I still see it growing and becoming something I don't know what that something is.

Can't make out what's going on now.. From what I read here, MNKD is all out with ads.. That's a lot of money. May be they are in "Hail Mary!" mode, and see if they can get a big enough raise in stock price to raise some cash? STAT, PR round (that NY event) didn't seem to do the trick this time. The stock price seems to be going down everyday, even with the script count slowly going up. I don't think MNKD is in a position to attract partners (at least with good terms) for now. Their only play is to raise the script numbers in US, and they need money. I like MNKD, Al Mann, and want them to succeed. But, this company makes me so damn stressed out every day.. I can't figure out what they are trying to do. I can only imagine what the top guys must be going thru at MNKD (I'm assuming they are looking out for MNKD and its investors :-))
