Like it or not the US market is going to be the most difficult market for us to penetrate .. it is what it is for now.. in the meantime we need exposure and sales on shoe string budget..
It's not desperation.. . it's a good move.. just one of many.. We all knew this wasn't going to be easy.. or at least we should have known..
This offers us exposure all over the world.. Imagine what happens when other docs around the world see the results that we know are possible with Arezza.. Word travels.. US Docs can't keep denying us forever..
It may not solve all of our problems.. but it certainly is one more step in the right direction given our circumstances.. and I for one feel encouraged by this news.. and very proud of Mike and team..

Also my thoughts exactly, nothing desperate about it. We’ve got people here that can turn any news into bad news. I am suspecting there’s more to come. Should be interesting:-)

Doesn't really make sense to me. If I were hiring a distributor for a foreign country, I would hire within the foreign country. I would think MNKD could make better deals with individual foreign distributors in addition to acquiring those distributors' expertise of the countries' rules and regulations. How many resources do one need to manage such distributors?

What's good about it is that there is now a distribution outlet for all the places in the world that don't/won't have a partner. This means that more people worldwide will have access, depending on local laws, that did before. I'd guess that this access will be expensive and low volume. Why would you not want this deal? It's not exclusive and expands the sales geography. Are upset that this deal is not good enough, and you wanted more? The PR is cryptic to you? I'm betting the industry gets it well enough. For the rest of us we wait for more knowledgeable people to explain it on the boards. This.
Imagine a PWD in South Africa who wants to try Afrezza. Instead of hunting a pharmacy or a mom and pop pharmacy, the PWD can reach out to Tanner pharma and get access to Afrezza.
Now the logistics part - who gets how much is not something we will know. But every PWD out there can get Afrezza through Tanner Pharma confidently that its a genuine product and not a counterfeit.
Try this. A rich well connected person in a country other than the USA, has a child or is themselves a type one diabetic. They want Afrezza. Now they can get it. The operative word, wealthy.

How many resources do one need to manage such distributors? That's just it, MNKD wouldn't manage them. MNKD would sign deals similar to the ones they have with their US distributors and then, like with the US distributors, do no more than take orders and ship product.

Kendall recently visited Duke and UNC ... and now we have the Tanner deal! Where did you see this? I would imagine he visited with Buse if that were the case.

It is legal to export any drug that has been FDA approved (and illegal if it has not). Companies like Tanner fill orders for customers in the numerous countries where virtually any FDA/EMA approved drug can be imported without further registration. It is a niche business but there is frequently demand for product in a foreign country, typically from just a few physicians who are familiar with the drug, often from being trained in the US. The good news is that Afrezza is now available to patients in many new countries, but the bad news is that most of those countries have tiny markets with low pricing relative to international standards. Most of the really attractive commercial markets are in Europe and those require will require an EMA approval. Here is some detail on Tanner's Managed Access Programs which is what Mike was referring to when he said "named patient access in underserved international markets." Another wedge of the overall distribution pie. I also think the Carlyle connection is worth noting given Kresa's involvement. www.tannerpharma.com/managed-access-programs/www.tannerpharma.com/story/manufacturer/

Kendall recently visited Duke and UNC ... and now we have the Tanner deal! When? For what? Was there a press release? Kendall is CMO. Why would he visit Duke and UNC? I would think may be to meet with the Doctors to check on Afrezza / review.
Why would MNKD do a press release for all C suite meetings and Travel.
PR newsire costs $.

Another day, and another suspense. This never ends with MNKD.
I'm pretty sure it must be hard for Mike, COx and BoD to raise cash without diluting.. They are doing their part honestly (I really hope so). May be Kresa is again doing the saving act by asking for personal favor this time from Carlyle group. Good for him. He is being very proactive now. I guess he is recognizing that this can slip away if he doesn't pull in his contacts.
But, this is taking so long. A lot of us are in this for more than 10 years. Holy **** - that's a lot of time, where the money hasn't grown but gone down. It's sad, but the trust on Al Mann and Afrezza keeps this going. Hopefully as Nate says, it will be a 300 bagger.
Sometimes I think, Mike should just dilute this with the remaining 200 million (?) authorized shares at $1.5 - $1.7 (haha - I know, I know), raise a decent amount of cash, reverse split and then run full steam for a year and see where we go.
