First off, just wanted to say that I’ve been here for many years, and this is my first post, so please go easy on me. I’ve been involved with the MNKD saga for about 7 years now, from stock to options, and over the last 4 years been accumulating a quarter million share position at a share price that I’m actually not so underwater...and am very prepared to add more over the coming weeks if necessary.
I’ve noticed this board, and other “media” devolving in recent weeks with some childish/trolling behavior and it truly disheartens me. I value almost all opinions I read on here, whether they’re positive or negative, I understand that some people have a job to do.
I have one simple question to all of the “altruistic” folks warning MNKD investors to find a better place for our money...don’t you have a better use for your time and energy? This is a $175 million company as of today, why do you care? Please don’t answer, I won’t be paying per response.
I just want to know how you can actually put your head on the pillow and sleep at night, and go to bed knowing that your purpose is to hinder the progress of a company that is trying to help the lives of potentially hundreds of millions of people in this world.

Camp A- wants to interact with Camp A to share knowledge and experience with civility and respect. Presents arguments based on facts and extrapolation of most probable outcomes based on history and experience. Said arguments would have benefited those who heeded the conclusions. Camp A's conclusions have proven to be more accurate than camp B (thus far).
Camp B- casts anger and shame onto camp A. Does not want to associate with camp A or have civil discourse to enrich the learning of both sides. Berates and belittles, resorting to personal attacks that are inaccurate and, for the most part, baseless and devoid of sound reason.
Camp C- all the knuckleheads that pretend to be apart of camp A or camp B but neither A nor B want to be associated with them.
Which one would you pick to sleep best at night?
Also, I'll include the definition of altruism here to help clear up any confusion you may have as to why people spend their time on here for the benefit of others.
Altruism-
the belief in or practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.

Sophie that’s you, that’s your reality, but it isn’t mine. My reality is I have friends on this drug and I get bashed daily for saying anything positive about the company or about Mike. Bashed by underwater longs. That also Email Mike with hate and derogatory statements. Absolutely nothing rational about bashing their own money.
Lately this orchestrated attack by the Motley fools all has to do with the shorts piling on and it bleeds over into all the message boards. They smell blood because of the financial situation.
Some people that say they want to have a rational discussion are over in the comment section of the articles saying they can’t wait to see the longs lose all their money. Making up complete lies about Afrezza. Not only that, they are stealing the identity and pictures of the real Afrezza users on Twitter and using them as a handle in the comment section.
Then there’s the people that have sold and have no position and for some crazy weird reason are still here hanging around to watch what they hope to be the train wreck, because believe me when you sell a stock you don’t hope it goes up:-) I can’t find anything rational about it.
Then there are the people that are obviously short. And some are very knowledgeable, but it’s clear they’re here to inject their negative influence. Otherwise why would they be here posting at all?
That’s not saying you can’t have rational a back-and-forth discussion with them.
But there are evil people that want the company destroyed, like the poster above states, and in answer to his question...I have no idea how they sleep at night!

Categorizing members really isn't so black or white. People don't like to be categorized (we all value our uniqueness) but that seems to be the way of the world these days. I tend to look at the content/quality of each post.
The ones I appreciate most are informational. Whether positive or negative, they present some rationale for readers to consider and nearly always include a link where readers can go to get more information. I consider screenshots of real world patients posted by sportsrancho , harryx1 and others to be informational. The same with peppy posting numbers related to daily stock activity, sla55 for keeping us updated on NASDAQ short interest and many others who go out of their way to research the medical/stock market responses to MannKind/Afrezza.
As a moderator, it's not easy to identify any member's intent. For example, is a post that lambasts management coming from an investor whose stock value is 1/10th of what is was when s/he invested or is it someone who loves pouring salt into a wound and prodding those who are hurting?
Obviously, opinions matter. Some members have experience with the pharmaceutical industry, stock trading, finance, etc. and are willing to share it. Other opinions are speculative. My oft-quoted mantra that "the science will prevail" is somewhere in the middle. My reality, as an investor, is that the pharmaceutical industry is much more cut-throat than I ever imagined and roadblocks have emerged where I least expected. This past 5 years has been highly educational for me thanks to many ProBoard members, some of whom have moved on.
I imagine that many of you think I should remove certain posts that you find personally offensive and perhaps we staff could do a better job of reining in hostility when it erupts. But all members of this staff are volunteers and most of us work full-time jobs.
I guess what I'm saying is that, even though emotions have risen over the past year leading to a more vitriolic atmosphere here at ProBoards-MNKD, this forum remains the premier place to enhance your understanding of this company and its products*, the medical and regulatory industry and the stock market with all its goods and evils.

The main culprit is the CRL incident and who ever caused it it - whether it was Martin Shrekli or the FDA or the company management itself. The second culprit is not raising the $$ on Afrezza approval - May have used that for the pipeline - and who ever is the reason behind this.
All the folks that discredit Afrezza with rubbish are also culprits may be 1% - but even then people can still look around get their facts.

really? have you ever seen these facts on seeking alpha? The last thing Spencer wrote had a lot of charts. Never one of these charts. He seems to be all about money, and not about the medication/product. We only have to use our eyeballs to see which insulin is superior. Afrezza.  SUBq Rapid Acting insulin.   |

Icky...hop back in the Delorean and enter 08-08-2018. I think there are some pretty exciting things ahead in the next several months. On the subject at hand, we all have a responsibility to ourselves to filter all the incoming data from multiple sources. Worrying about what other people are doing and what motivates them to do so can be quite exhausting and plays right into their hands...some of them. |
