Seems strange to change it up and host their earnings call during pre-market. I can't even remember a time that they did this. Also, the only people on the call will be Mike and CFO Steven Binder. Dr. Kendall will not be on the call as he has the previous calls. Are these anomalies are good sign, bad sign, or meaningless? I lean toward meaningless. If UTHR's cc was after hours then I would think there might be something to it. Since UTHR's cc is also in the morning then probably just coincidence.

Been doing this too long to read something into it that may or may not exist. Hope springs eternal!

I think the timing is bullish. Just dug up an old paper: Timing of earnings release. Releasing good news during (or before) trading and bad news after hours has been common for years. See also Investopedia. Good things ahead!

All of those late earnings releases for apple and netflix have been poor.

I'm no expert, but that paper is so old I'm not sure how relevant it really is today. It's from back in the day when many people would still call their brokers on landlines for stock quotes. TSLA and INTC both recently reported AH and both rocked. CAT reported before trading, and fell bigly on sucky guidance. I just think the meaning of the timing isn't as obvious as it may have once been.

It isn't practiced as commonly today and we shouldn't read too much into it, but it still makes sense intuitively to give people time to digest less than stellar news by announcing it after hours. Still think it's bullish.

"I'm no expert, but that paper is so old I'm not sure how relevant it really is today. It's from back in the day when many people would still call their brokers on landlines for stock quotes. " HEY ... I resemble that remark !!! And you left out the part about waiting/holding for quite a few minutes ... then, having to pay a huge commission for the trade. I'd be a millionaire if I could get those commissions back. Actually I did get them back because I was a good ... or BAD day trader (depending on whether you are young or old or young at heart) Now think ... day trader ... and how much commissions I had to pay. WOW !!!

I loaded up on more 2021 $4 call options today.
I am so, so long.
While I hope Mike announces world peace on Thursday
I am resigning myself to another 6 months of drudgery.

Wish I was you:-) you’re loaded, set for whatever comes and can wait it out. I’m hoping we get a little bump next week so I can roll calls and re-load for 2021. Safe haven in this market! Last night I was reading my book by James Patterson, The Third juror...there was a man accused of a horrific murder,he did not commit. His women attorney was very wet behind the ears. An old associate came to her with some very important evidence, they made arrangements to meet later in the day. The attorney looked worried, and said, can’t you tell me anything now? and her friend said, not to worry the “Calvary is coming!” I just had to put my book down and laugh! What are the odds...

Why not buy the shares themselves? At the current price, the shares are a bargain to me in comparison to the 2021 calls. You will have peace of mind as well holding the shares rather than the calls.

While I hope Mike announces world peace on Thursday I am resigning myself to another 6 months of drudgery. curious as to the rational on buying 2021 4 calls ...it looks like you paid 95 cents today possibly? My reasoning is you are paying 95 cents so your break even is 4.95 stock price . I realize only 95 cents is max risk...however you can buy stock outright for 1.73 which never expires and isn't much of a premium over those calls. Ive been looking at different options out as well and as far as longer dated stuff not much sticks out risk/reward wise .....except maybe the 2020 2.5, 3 and 3.5 if you can get them closer to the bid....... Stock is so cheap that is kinda just worth it to buy outright shares longer term my view fwiw
