One drop is only as good as the user, meaning, the user has to do a finger poke. if they poke twice a day, really what good is the data? it they poke every 1/2 hour, now there is some meaningful data. no one will poke every 1/2 hour or even hourly.

They are tracking HbA1c as the primary outcome rather than any other metric.

A1C dropped 0.93 using Afrezza versus patients injectable mealtime insulin?

The Afrezza study uses One drop for all participants whether they were using afrezza or not. I believe the one drop/non one drop study is showing if diabetics watch over their A1C like a hawk with an app they will see a reduction in their A1C. Both studies show improvement for each tool. I would expect someone to be able to drop from 9 to 8 A1C using the one drop App and then go from 8 to 7 using Afrezza and the One Drop app together.

According to the press release
"Participants were randomized to receive One Drop + Afrezza, or One Drop + their current injectable bolus insulin"
Both groups used OneDrop, and Afrezza or injectable mealtime insulin. Yes?

A1C dropped 0.93 using Afrezza versus patients injectable mealtime insulin? No. T2 insulin using patients using Afrezza and One Drop dropped their A1c by 0.93. Patients not using Afrezza also dropped their A1c, but those numbers have not been given yet. I guess the full results presented at the ATTD have those numbers in them. What we do know is that in an earlier trial using their existing treatments T1 patients using One Drop reduced their A1c by 0.9, and T2 patients by 1.3. Critically though the T2 patients were on a variety of treatments and not insulin as in the newest trial so they may have been easier to coach. Meaning it is not really fair to Afrezza to compare that 1.3 reduction with the new 0.93 reduction.
