What does it mean that this is being done so the company can buy back shares? Couldn't the company buy back existing shares without this offering? I don't see anything about "buying back shares". Nobody issues a shelf to buy back shares. No company in financial distress buys back shares.

Mike should come out to give us long-term investors a straight answer. Why do this to us right before the holidays?

Usually mnkd waits until last moment to raise cash so maybe the timing is for another reason. Possibilities are: 1. Buy back warrants 2. Pay off DF early 3. Acquire another company or asset 4. Pay for much larger media campaign on Network TV instead of local cable 5. Xmas bonus’ Anyone else care to guess? For continued operations. I’ve been saying it for months now Or maybe it is to buy RLS?

Pretty sure - no. 4. May be. But at this price? Come on? You are playing with <$1 and a reverse split. May be they needed to match their bonus with the other companies :-(

Nobody issues a shelf to buy back shares. No company in financial distress buys back shares. You're correct. I read this sentence too quickly and got confused: "public offering to issue and sell shares of its common stock and warrants to purchase shares of its common stock "

Does anyone have any idea how selling shares to buy back shares is supposed to work? I must have slept through that lecture in Finance class.

Could it be someone is buying a position in the company?

Down 21% and counting, pretty much wiped out any sort of momentum from the UTHR deal.

The one positive is the possibility someone is going to take a position in MNKD and they are going through the offering to ensure sufficient stock at a set price. Perhaps the price will in itself trigger the elusive, and long awaited MOASS and the interested party doesn’t want to deal with trying to find shares at the price they’re willing to pay. Just dreamin, none of mine have come true to date. I’m prepared to be further disappointed..

Nobody issues a shelf to buy back shares. No company in financial distress buys back shares. Right. The wording was clear. The offering for stock plus warrants. The warrants are to buy shares, not the entire offering. That was wishful thinking for who wrote that post.

Or may be raising money anticipating recession in near future ?
I was happy seeing the stock price holding while the market is tanking. Now back to square one !! Don't know how many years I have to hold to break even at 5.60.
