Correct. They're definitely saying they have used these drugs for their needs and they identify them as the celebrities they are. These are testimonials. I have to agree that a commercial for insulin should receive more scrutiny than a drug for quitting smoking or skin afflictions. Regardless, the FDA acknowledged the fast onset of effective action and permitted a label change, so it can't with a straight face say it is inappropriate to highlight this key part of the drug's value in advertisements. And, as I said, maybe Mannkind did collaborate with the FDA on preproduction of the flying hamburger commercial I think is so lackluster. Just don't know. I know what I think would be more effective as an advertisement, but don't know how much of it is acheivable. The current commercial was produced before the label change, so a new ad probably could incorporate language about the fast onset. As I've said in other threads I complained to Mike about the current ad in September and got this response: Please send me drug ad you like. To me they are all as good as it gets bc FDA restricts what you want to say. For example I had to take pizza out of our ad bc FDA said people with diabetes shouldn’t be encouraged to eat pizza.
Edit: To be fair, Mike has also said that the current commercial has boosted sales in selected markets in the recent "pilot" campaign, so maybe it will also do so in the promised "major" campaign starting next week.

At least Mike tried to get the pizza in there:-) The drug commercial I like is where the man ( newscaster ) is on the street interviewing people that have had great results with the diabetic drug. Talking about how it’s also good for your heart. I don’t like that the drug exists, I just think that the TV ad catches your attention.

I know we’ve rehashed these testimonials not being allowed before but I can’t understand how Cyndii Lauper does it for the scorisis drug and Ray Liotta does it for Chantix, the stop smoking drug. I'm sure they get FDA approval beforehand for the content in the commercial. Plus, it's not really actually testimonials, just actors reading a script. About 6pm EST on CNN I saw a new commercial for Cosentyx with Cyndi Lauper. There was “ACTUAL USER” written on the screen below her when she was talking about her clear skin since taking Cosentyx. So when a couple of the regulars on this board keep saying that user testimonials can’t be used in commercials, and that we can’t have celebrities endorsing Afrezza as a user, I just don’t believe them.
