Hi all,
Forgive me if I'm wrong as I don't have access to a computer to check this fact. Off the top of my head I'm really sure I remember that the factory that Amphastar just bought from Merck to produce insulin (refer to the "who is Amphastar" thread by mnkdmilliomaire) in France in Eragny-sur-Epte is in fact the very factory which was supposedly the cause of the long delay of the very first submission of Afrezza (remember, 3 submissions ago....but now we are approved ;-). The FDA stated they had not inspected this very same factory and that this was the cause of the delay.
Another old timer to recall that?
This would suggest that this factory is in fact part of the NDA submitted and approved so whoever owns it gets the deal right? Lots of costs and delays to change factory and have the FDA inspect it again...
So this seems very bullish to me and as to why do they do it now before the deal we're all waiting for is announced, this seems pure sales logic to me. If I know I will sign a great partnership tomorrow, I'm better off negotiating my suppliers prices before to get the best deal!!
This is very good news... Abwo

I thought the factory inspection delay back then referred to the Danbury plant.

I thought the factory inspection delay back then referred to the Danbury plant. Nope, that I'm sure it was not. I remember all over the message boards at the time people were wondering why it took the FDA so long to inspect a factory in Europe...

I'm unhappy to have to use an old hit piece but from a smartphone search this is the first one I found: www.cbsnews.com/news/why-you-should-not-be-surprised-at-further-surprises-on-mannkinds-inhaled-insulin/They talk about the fact the delay is because an Organon insulin factory in France has not been finished to be inspected by the FDA. And if you google Organon and Eragny-sur-Epte you get the address of an Organon factory there. Google map the village and you'll see the chances of having two factories there is very slim

I agree that it is a bullish sign as well! What I don't understand is how after this deal there is speculation that MNKD is going it alone. How were those dots connected. Obviously we need a supplier. When I read about it last night, I was really excited and thought that it proved a Partnership or buyout was pretty much a given. But looks like the market is seeing it different? MNKD is NOT going this alone.
