Very interesting! Nice find and it adds to the speculation! The use of the word "novel" in the description of the launch of a new diabetes drug is intriguing. I'd love to go back and see how they have worded similar positions in the past. Sometimes, a company uses a certain amount of "stock" pre-approved boilerplate in composing their position descriptions. Time will tell.
Re the speculation in the Motley Fool article, I think it does correctly identify that AZN might be interested for various reasons as specified in the article (building their pipeline and sales in key markets). But, personally, I thought the article was way too negative (especially on the heels of FDA approval. I discounted the overall article because the author is a hedge fund advisor. Moreover, why no mention of several other companies that are potential partners who are in similar situations as Astro Zeneca? I thought that was odd, especially because a very good case can be made for Merck and perhaps a weaker one for Sanofi. All have been mentioned. GLTAL Chris-C

just saw this as well. in full skeptical mode, the kneejerk reaction was it's a job on a fake website, no way this can be real. don't think so though. Also, there are a crapton (technical term) of jobs posted on august 8th on the newscientist site under astrazeneca, some that directly relate to diabetes, some don't. looking at azn's drug page for cardiovascular/diabetes drugs. bydureon: glp-1 byetta: glp-1 forxiga: sglt2 komboglyze: type of combo pill of onglyza and metformin onglyza: dpp-4. no insulin products. sounds like that would be right in line with Pfeffer's comments about mnkd not wanting to partner with someone with an insulin product. lots of weird little nuggets in the past weekish to continue to ignore, imo. would love to believe there's something to all this and that it'll be out monday.

I was looking for something in there that might be the tell. The closest (not very) I could find was reference to "vendor" with regard to necessary external relationship. "Manage marketing relationships with agencies, vendor partners, consultants, and other third party groups" If anyone has insight into positions such as these... could one assume that a "vendor partner" is likely to refer to a drug manufacturer for which AZN acts as the marketing partner? or would there be other types of vendors that would be "partners"? The fact that it is "partners" in the plural would seem to run counter to my speculation. Who's an expert at reading between the lines?

Desirable Relevant technical degree MBA Broad commercial experience Global commercial experience Inline Brand Marketing Company experience Exposure to decision-making bodies Working with R&D and other non marketing functions Working in an AllianceHowever, not to get carried away that could just refer to working between departments within the same organization...ie., marketing and finance, etc. same for the line above it with regards to within the company itself.
