Possible paying MNKD over $100m a year in royalties when our market cap is currently $208m. Could be a very smart acquisition. Right, raise about 500 million in stock sales and purchase Mannkind. Jeez Mnkd is undervalued. It's ridiculous but here we are.

I listened to the comment from Martine probably about 5 times to see if I could discern a Freudian slip. The connector phrase between “acquisition” and “licensing” was “or, or”. The word “or” said twice. Clearly, Martine was correcting herself. What isn’t clear is whether that was a Freudian slip. I did some research on Martine and watched an hour long Vimeo interview that was recorded earlier this year. Martine is way smart. Genius level.
Martine built Sirius XM and United Therapeutics. She has been making north of $35M as a CEO for a long time. And, has interests in aviation (or e-viation as Martine called it), and in addition to therapeutic treatments for PAH (first developed out of desparation to save her daughter) she also has UTHR developing implantable human organs grown from collagen “scaffolds” seeded with stem cells. I think she makes Elon Musk look like a piker. (I wish I could convince her to look at commercially feasible fusion, small enough to fit in a car.)
UTHR market cap is $3.5B. IF Martine wanted to acquire MNKD, what would be the deal? Would there be an offer? Would there be a quiet purchase up to just under 5% ownership and then an offer? What should MNKD shareholders hope for in a buyout offer?

As long as prcgorman2 isn't at the wheel we are safe. "Commercially feasible fusion in cars" means we have little mushroom clouds at every car accident. People are already frying their butts riding on a giant battery with Teslas. But, that's mytakeonit

UTHR is screwed if anything bad happens to MNKD. That fact alone is kind of reassuring.

I'm not really all that excited about being acquired at this point.. We are trading at just over 1$.. I mean I'm not really interested in some low ball offer and that is what we would probably get.. I've also heard that UT is cash poor..

Yes. That was the purpose of the recent manufacturing capability build. Martine is shrewd but no way would she try to harm Mannkind or their shareholders.
So, again, Martine said “acquisition”. It leaves it out there hanging ripe for speculation. Let’s speculate. I’ll start. MNKD hit $6 last year, but that was before some amount of dilution but that event as a point of speculation of what MNKD can (has) acheived on it’s own under “normal” market forces and can be reasonably argued is achievable again although the timeframe is always a question and a dollar today is better than a dollar tomorrow. Dr. Mann said he wouldn’t sell another of his companies for less than 10x what he had in it, but there is no way anyone will offer $10B+ at this stage. $3 would be $650M for the Afrezza franchise, Technosphere, the pipeline such as it is, the manufacturing facilities, and the substantial pool of IPR. UTHR also acquires the debt, but not much of an issue and I assume just goes against UTHR, not MNKD. Yeah, seems too cheap still. $4 enough? Not for me, but I suspect somewhere between $4 and $10 and closer to $4. Hope y’all been averaging down if your cost basis is higher than that.
So a buyout offer of say $4. That will cause a substantial gap up in the MNKD stock price. What happens to a share price for a company with nearly a month of time to cover short positions that has a sudden and significant gap up? Something about Volkswagen comes to mind.

(I had incorrect numbers.) kevinmik on ST just corrected my horrible memory.... 1 bn$ + .5 bn. + .3 bn My apologies to the board and thanks to Kevin for the correction. kevinmikAug 13th, 7:21 pm $MNKD Just something to think about......"On June27, 2018, United Therapeutics Corporation (the “Company”) entered into a Credit Agreement (the “Credit Agreement”) with certain of its subsidiaries party thereto, as guarantors (the “Guarantors”), the lenders referred to therein, and Wells Fargo Bank, National Association (“Wells Fargo”), as administrative agent and as a swingline lender. The Credit Agreement provides for (i)an unsecured revolving credit facility of up to $1.0 billion and (ii)a second unsecured revolving credit facility of up to $500 million (which facilities may, subject to obtaining commitments from existing or new lenders for such increase and subject to other conditions, be increased by up to $300 million in the aggregate). The facilities mature five years after the closing date of the Credit Agreement"
