I'm fairly positive that management could have paid their tax obligations out of their current salaries. I myself will be getting the final of four incentive stock disbursements later this year. We’re given no option with regard to the shares they hold back and sell for taxes. I don’t know the accounting or regulatory requirements around it, but it sounds like common practice at least. That may be default for your company but you could instruct them not to, unless there is special mandated withholding.

I don't see how anyone could be forced to sell their stock to meet withholding requirements.

It's just taxes silly. It's so cute when all 20 of them form a circle! How many are on the sideline? I know they'd all like to invest..........they just don't see the reason to now.

prcgorman2 You are aged and wise to a fault. Dog pecker gnats are just what they are, dog pecker gnats. They are useful to point, but at the same time they're annoying. It's just as easy to swat them away and ignore them. When you identify a swarm of gnats, you should just simply walk away from them instead of offering them more balls. As you swat, more always seem to show up.

wow. Interesting. In regards to being offended, this article is pretty much in line with other schools of psychology on the subject of being offended. Perhaps it can be of help to some here. ””So what factors determine the intensity of the offensive feeling? Insecurities. One of the most common reasons people take offense is insecurity. Insecurities are based on one’s self-concept, ideas and feelings about self (Coon & Mitterer, 2009). When the self-concept is challenged, one will question perceptions of self and insecurities ensue. The goal becomes finding a way to rectify the words spoken or actions taken with the self-concept. If rectification does not place, the feeling of offense can be an effect. The dissonance between one’s self-concept and another’s words or actions can be rectified not only with acceptance, but also with a strong identity and self-concept. The person will need to make a choice: to accept, reject with offense, or reject without offense. "If a person has a strong self-concept, the less likely s/he will choose to take offense."“ www.sagu.edu/thoughthub/the-psychology-of-offenseI’ve always been intrigued by psychobabble. It leaves you wondering if it is true and knowing that you can’t tell but must wait for more information gathered using real science. Does the term “psychobabble” offend? It probably should if you’re a professional in the field. Does that mean you’re insecure? That appears to be the point of the post. People are offended not because something is objectively offensive, but because they don’t have the appropriate maturity and emotional intelligence with which to properly assimilate the information. If we accept this premise without qualification it implies that about one-half of adult American voters aren’t properly evaluating the political environment and are merely insecure. I had not assumed that. Live and learn. This has been an interesting perpspective to contemplate. Thanks for that.
