1). Mike said the only thing holding Mnkd back was Mnkd. (Interesting statement that puzzles me)
2). They are hiring two scientists to help with idea generation (Cool, the need for our arm-chair ideas will be less  )
3). Mike said, "To take an idea and get it to Phase 1 is cheap and easy" (Ok, why not get as many formulations to Phase 1 as possible and offer these semi-ready products to various companies? All they could say is no and by your own admission it didn't cost you much)

Regarding the MNKD holding back MNKD statement, I believe that has to do with data and issues that made an uphill struggle that were outside of MannKind's control, from the early issues with packaging, to dosing, to lack of material to present to docs (insufficient or unconvincing clinical/scientific data). Now that most of those things are in place or nearing completion, the main thing holding back MannKind is themselves, their efforts and strategy, so to speak. That was my impression of the meaning.
Regarding your third point, I don't think it's a bad idea. Though with the company's financial history and their current position, I have a feeling they're going to be playing it safe for now. I guess we'll see.
Overall, I did like the conference. Now that data is rolling out, the medical community has fewer excuses for resisting it, and MannKind definitely has no excuse for not delivering it. Honestly, we need to see some progress over this following year; barring some kind of catastrophic climate or complications of the current situation, there shouldn't be any reason this can't be rolled out with noticeable improvements on the balance sheet.

On their website Mannkind has "Cannabinoid Technosphere® formulations" listed as "phase 0/1." What is that? They show it as after "pre-ind" so has an IND been filed by anyone?
