LOL Dividends ? Not even Amazon, Who is valued 1,5 Trillions and 280 Billion sales, distributed any dividends any time (EPS 26 from Yahoo) No, if we could reach some earnings some day it is much better to be invested then distributed (and sure if could reach an earning it will be invested for years) Also our partner UTHR Who is valued 4,4 Billions with 1,5 Billion sales (double lol)....who had in period 2016-2018 1 Billion earnings (EPS 9,5 from Yahoo).... never distributed dividends Also for the ones expecting MNKD going to 100$ a share meaning (triple lol)... as for today it means 25 Billions Market Cap.... with a futuristic earnings of 0,5 Billions (3 years ) it means 5-20 $ range depending on many factors ! So for example: Amazon Income is increasing consistently year by year and their business is clear and future and beliavable for the future... in fact they have price per earnings 113 UTHR Income is quite stable and their business must be consolidated in a marketplace groving but full of other operators... in fact they have price per earnings 10,35 • ABM Industries Market value: $2.7 billion Dividend yield: 1.8% • Archrock Market value: $1.4 billion Dividend yield: 5.0% • Ares Captial Market value: $7.7 billion Dividend yield: 8.9% and so on

If we ramp up quickly with Tre-T to $50 million +, that's about $0.16 a share on 300 million shares. Why not issue a $0.05 dividend if we're still as undervalued as we are today? A 2.5% dividend would certainly scare off any remaining shorts and get us looked at differently by the investing community. It'll never happen, but.....why not? Lots of long-suffering shareholders could use a return. We'd still have $ for pipeline development. I'm assuming Afrezza turns a profit about that time as well.
Ahhh, just fun to thinking about the possibilities. Great presentation by Mike. Best yet, IMHO

It wouldn't scare shorts off, because they would see it for what it would be: a bad idea. What would help long suffering shareholders is performance, sales, execution, etc., not a nickel per share. As long as we're having to obtain funding from our usual sources, any extra money needs to go to ending that dynamic. Radgray you summed it up correctly by saying "it'll never happen."

I'll take a pass on the taxable dividend. Now if the company can figure out how to share the NOL with shareholders I would certainly love to find a way to monetize that chunk. LOL

No reputable company will issue a dividend when they are consistently losing money and constantly in the process of raising cash. Period, end of story, never bring up dividends again.

"In the not so distant future" Must be kinda hard to wrap your mind around that idea. This last quarter will be a transitional period, but as we find new customers and receive double digit royalties ... the launch begins. But, that's mytakeonit

Why not issue a $0.05 dividend if we're still as undervalued as we are today? Because issuing a dividend is, quite literally, illegal at this time. A company is owned by its shareholders, but also by its creditors which is why the company has to maintain a detailed balance sheet to record who owns what. Dividends can only be paid from retained earnings and as of the last quarter, the was a negative balance in retained earnings of more than $3 billion. While some of that hole can be eliminated by a wholesale recapitalization of the company (there are various legal maneuvers to get there), at a minimum paying a dividend requires enough cash flow to liquidate all the outstanding liabilities before shareholders get dividends. Dividends are a payment of earnings (of which there are none) and any other type of distribution is considered a reduction of paid capital. So long as there is material debt on the books, reducing paid capital is considered a fraudulent conveyance, at which point a platoon of lawyers get involved and a whole bunch of bad things happen. Not worth it for a nickel!

So does that mean that we will be getting negative dividends? - 5 cents per share means that MNKD will be out of the hole really fast.
But, that's mytakeonit
