Why does every substantive action taken by MNKD result in a dramatic decline in stock price, i.e., down almost 10% today on the news? (as of 3:13 PM EST) You'd think by now, they wouldn't do stuff like this again, and again, and again...

MNKD provided no rationale about why they can now afford this new expense stream. Just the silliest darn operation on the planet. Sigh...

Thank you for the notice ... but, I bought enough at 82 cents, 88 cents, and 116 cents. BTW, I do like this acquisition.
But, that's mytakeonit

and we still haven't learned our lessons If anyone was considering adding more at 3.00 then nows your chance The trouble with MNKD is that its “buying opportunities” tend to be viewed by short traders as opportunistic, and they snowball to the extreme. If Michael C thought this acquisition was going to be met positively, he doesn’t have a very clear understanding of his company’s skeptical reputation among value investors on Wall Street. My advice would be to concentrate on growing scripts to move the company toward breakeven. Serious institutional investors will steer clear until the sp is above $5 and the company can show it can sustain profitability, IMO.

Mike C didn't acquire Qrum Pharma to stimulate stock price growth. It was a good move to strengthen MNKD. I don't have a problem with it ... especially when the price was so cheap.
But, that's mytakeonit

I LIKE IT! Aside from Afrezza (which we know is the most advanced mealtime insulin developed), I've always thought that the Technosphere platform was very well suited to Cystic Fibrosis treatments and could have a huge impact in that disease (greater than Afrezza for diabetes). I truly believe that there could be a huge CF treatment division within Mannkind using Technosphere to create novel treatments as well as using existing molecules to increase the quality of life for CF patients. Acquiring Dr. Hofmann is what is needed to bring CF expertise to Mannkind. This, IMO, will help advance not only the new Clofazimine molecule but also the Tobramycin and Dornase Alfa Technosphere molecules as he has prior relationships with the CF Foundation network through QRM-003. My hope is that other molecules (Amphotericin B and possible delivery of the CFTR-encoded mRNA molecule) will be added to the pipeline in the near future. www.nacfconference.org/Home/PDFs/NACFC_2018_Plenary_1/The question is......Are these molecules going to be a Full product of MNKD or another ROYALTY stream? I think eventually they will be deals similar to TreT but time will tell. This is what I wrote on ST a little while ago... QRM-003 preclinical trials were funded by the CF Foundation so it's a fairly good chance that they will fund the Phase 1 trial IMO. The CF Foundation intend to allocate a half a billion dollars through 2025 to fund their research initiatives. That potentially gives an in road to help fund Tobramycin and Dornase Alfa plus any other molecules pertaining to CF. They also have an extensive network of testing centers throughout the US. www.cff.org/Research/Research-Into-the-Disease/Research-into-CF-Complications/Infection-Research-Initiative/Vancomycin, Linezolid and Amphotericin B are CF related drugs.... And hopefully one day in the near future we see a similar press release... www.cff.org/About-Us/Media-Center/Press-Releases/CF-Foundation-Awards-Up-to-3-3M-to-Polyphor-for-Inhaled-Version-of-Antibiotic-to-Treat-Pseudomonas/

MannKind purchased all of the outstanding capital stock of QrumPharma for consideration consisting of $3.5 million in cash and 3,067,179 shares of MannKind common stock, subject to adjustment for cash on hand, unpaid indebtedness, unpaid transaction expenses, net working capital, and other liabilities of QrumPharma. In addition, the selling stockholders of QrumPharma will be entitled to contingent payments in the event that products based on QrumPharma’s intellectual property generate net sales that exceed specified thresholds. Locust Walk served as an advisor to MannKind. How convenient that the MNKD share price ran up recently. Had it been lower when the deal was struck (like it was a month or two ago), presumably QrumPharma would have demanded more shares. A million dollars saved here, a million there, I guess it adds up.

Initial market reaction seems positive. That was pre-market and just after market open. That sentiment didn’t hold up.

Thanks for all your info, Matt, Mango and Harry, and everyone else.
Wow, from the looks of Dr. Hofmann's bio that Mango provided, he is a real catch and may be worth the purchase price by himself. He is a real winner, and hopefully a keeper. I like the CF info that Harry outlined. MNKD Chief Scientific Officer seems like a beautiful fit for Dr. H. This is all really, really good stuff.
Although I still really wish MNKD would just focus on getting to breakeven to start getting the SP up, I have changed my thumbs down to a double-thumbs up for Qrum, and I am now happy and excited.
I would love to say Kaboom!, but I think Kabooms need to wait for breakeven, and now we will probably have an even larger dilution and longer wait to get through before that. But, still, it looks like Qrum will be a good addition.

I smell a 🐀. You get what you pay for and cheap is never good because sooner or later that cheap move has just gotten expensive.
