I think - and this is just based on recollection - so, that can always be "dangerous" - that about half the short position was established pre-split, and about half, post split. The half post split was from $5 down to $.70. But, as we're getting close to $5, those shares that started at that PPS and went lower are heading to break even - no gain, no loss. One might think, that as we reach and pass the $5 mark, the short interest could drop by 15 million shares+. It's a nice thought, anyway.

You are talking $.70 per share ... but, if you bought 1M shares ... then it'll be ahhh ... ahhh ... a lot more than $.70
But, that's a risk to reward kind of thing.
Actually, the risk is more that your wife will kill you if it goes down.
But, that's mytakeonit

If I buy it I can't lose more than $.70. It's all about percentages, not absolute dollar values. You wouldn't buy 100 shares of Tesla the same way you buy 100 shares of MNKD at $0.70. Usually you just spend a fixed amount of dollars to purchase shares, like $1,000, in which case, your purchase of MNKD can certainly be hit very hard by a few cents of movement because you own way more shares.

If I buy it I can't lose more than $.70. In percentages, that would be 100%, a total loss. I know shorts can get in bigger trouble than that, but 100% is bad enough for me. 🤔

From Centralcoastinvestor Has anyone noticed that all of the short volume daily numbers on shortvolume.com/ stopped on 8/25/21? The daily number usually comes out at 3:00 pm each day. I like to follow this number as it is interesting to see how short volume influenced the days stock price etc. I am wondering why and when it will be back online. My addition: www.sec.gov/comments/4-627/4627-95.pdf

It seems like a clear description of the damage naked short selling inflicts on a business. I'm sure you recognize the author.

Central has an interesting observation about daily short interest. Can anyone verify the last few trading sessions?
