If you're like me and really appreciate the quality of this ProBoard message board system, and want to help keep the business alive, here's a good way to do it: www.proboards.com/contributeI just contributed $50, and then I redeemed the "points" it got me for ad-free viewing for a year. But I would've done it without the reward because, frankly, I'm not sure how this company even stays in business. To be honest, I haven't seen anything that says "we're going under if you don't contribute", but that's one of the reasons I'm moved to send them some money. They've always been a class act.

The proboard staff members probably read our investment advice and make millions from it.

Yup, I just learned about the acquisition (after posting about contributing). I guess I was correct about PB having a hard time staying in business. There's a thread about it on the public PB support forum: support.proboards.com/thread/668651/proboards-verticalscopeLooks like no discernible changes imminent.

Either you find value in participating here, or not. I've been a member (but never moderator) of several independent forums over the years and, at some point, I always make a contribution to help keep it running when I recognize that I am finding value in my participation on the forum. So, enough said, not trying to lecture.
Btw, in all the time I've been around PB, I have not found the occasional "ask" to be out of line or even remotely frequent. So, not a bother.
