Hey Caesar - whats your issue? The point of a message board is to get opinions. What is it you want to know about MNKD? Its sitting on the greatest advance in diabetes care in 100 years. The diabetes industry has been doing everything it can for the last 10 years to bury MNKD and bury afrezza. A couple years back on the verge of bankruptcy UTHR threw MNKD a life line with Tyvaso DPI. Now UTHR is feeling some of the same FDA pushback on approval with multiple CRLs. If approved MNKD could realize $100M annually in revenue. If approved the label contains no black box which would have HUGE ramifications for the afrezza label. The diabetes industry wants no changes to the afrezza label and they just want MNKD and afrezza to go away sooner than later. At the same time MNKD is sitting on a pile of cash and is looking at 2023 to be the breakeven year on afrezza. MNKD also has a number of other serious products in their pipeline. They are also expanding a campaign called "Seeing is Believing" to by-pass the ADA Standard of Care and take afrezza directly to the large GPs with a CGM vendor and are supplying free CGMs as needed. MNKD is sitting at 2.72 pps with a market cap of $685M. If Tyvaso DPI is approved and MNKD starts realizing that revenue stream, do you think MNKD's current pps is being properly valued. That discussion is what this message board is about. Any questions? Really you think the the big Pharma has been trying to bury Afrezza? You don't think they have anything better to do?Merck ceo said it was just a niche product years ago.BF could give a shit about afrezza! Also free What pipe line you talking about? The one that cost more money then anything!also free CGM it's not going to be free, who do you think is going to pay for this? More Dulution? We all should of just invested in the good s@p 500 the last 12 years! Your bank account would of appreciated it. I do think they are trying to bury it and I just happened to be at the Adcom and just happened to hear a very interesting conversation. Did you ever think Brandicourt had any intention of selling afrezza? His job was to bury it and he did a great job. Now let me ask you, what do you think the Merck CEO would say if he was publicly confronted with Mike's "Seeing is Believing" challenge? How much is Merck selling in Januvia - $5,500,000,000? Thats a lot of zeros. I suspect the Merck CEO would try and laugh it off and quickly leave the room. I can tell you I confronted one of Merck's M&A people with some VDex whitepapers and got laughed at. She was clearly not expecting me to say OK, lets try it. The end result was Bill's whitepapers on the floor and this fine lady storming out of the room. BTW - she told me the whitepapers were typical pump and dump stuff she sees all the time. The Libre I had was from Germany which I got on Ebay because our fine FDA had not approved them here yet. Why is the U.S. one of the few places you need a prescription to get a CGM? I don't know the Merck CEO but I am not too far from Rahway. Set up a meeting and we can try and get Mike there too. Lets see what Mr. Frazier says after seeing it in action and if he still thinks its a niche product. What he said was true. Without the CGM and "seeing is believing" afrezza is a niche product. T2s for the most part have no idea what is going on. Their doctors give them some pills, tell them to take a walk and lose a few pound and send them home. Most are not even told to test with a monitor. Over time things get worse and the progression of the ADA Step program kicks in and Merck sells more Januvia. Why would Mr. Frazier ever want afrezza to stop the progression and maybe even reverse the progression? If it takes a dozen CMGs to convince a large GP practice that afrezza is more than a joke I think thats money well spent. If MNKD is getting them at cost from DXCM, all the better. If insurance or Medicare is paying even better. Do you know what Kevin Sayer said when he was asked about afrezza a few years back at the ADA conference? He said he has never seen anything like it. Who knows more about diabetes Frazier or Sayer?

Medicare won't pay for a libre if you are a type 2.. I just got into an argument with my dad's doc a few weeks ago about this because I think he is misdiagnosed in the first place and I wanted a libre for him... I get so frustrated... I'm positive he is lada..
But my dad is 81 and has been reduced to only one functional arm after having a stroke.. so he can't test his own BS anymore and I can't be there all of the time.. so what happens, his doc put him on Ozempic.. so then I got really worried cuz I didn't know how that would go cuz I didn't know if his pancreas was still making enough insulin..
It worked out fine except for side effects.. his last A1C was 6.5.. I have no idea how this Ozempic works.. but it is..
We finally had to cut the dose cuz he couldn't go anywhere without having to run to the bathroom.. really aweful stuff.. embarrassing for him too... So we cut the dose in half.. will see what his next A1C reads.. one nice thing about it is he only has 1 shot a week!!
He has congestive heart failure and also kidney failure..and memory issues too so diabetes has taken a back seat to it all... Just wish medicare would pay for things that are needed.. I think devices are covered under part B.. to be fair I guess most times medicare pays..

I would like the FDA to be confronted with the seeing is believing challenge. Lenny - the FDA is not the issue. The thing is some times the FDA does things by the book but in the case of MNKD they always do things by the book as there is a lot of outside pressure on them when it comes to afrezza. Its the ADA which is the issue and Mike has his chance at the 82nd Scientific Sessions. He has the chance to hold "Seeing is Believing" demonstrations right out of the MNKD booth or better yet DXCM's booth. Lets see if he does it. I have already volunteered to bring my bullhorn and be the MC. Now, the last thing the ADA, aka BP wants is Mike to start getting aggressive. If Mike starts advertising demo times it will be interesting to see how many of these demonstrations the ADA will allow before they try to shut them down.

He was on insulin... Dr. Wrote a letter... She told me the answer she got was that unless dad is a type 1 they will not pay.. so she put him on Ozempic... This was the answer she got back from Medicare.. At his point I'm accepting it.. Dad can barely remember to take that one shot a week anymore... Just letting you all know what happened... I have to pick my battles here anymore.. he is at home and we are taking care of him. I thought devices were covered by part B... But yes he has both a supplement and part D coverage... Maybe it is part D that would be the coverage... It's B/C B/S

I thought devices were covered by part B... But yes he has both a supplement and part D coverage... Maybe it is part D that would be the coverage... It's B/C B/S Medicare Part B covers CGMs if the patient is on insulin and Medicare has changed its definition of insulin to include Afrezza. However, Part B doesn't cover Afrezza itself (or any other insulins) and its up to the Part D plans as to whether they cover Afrezza. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of one that does.

Here is the medicare guide, see page 10. www.medicare.gov/Pubs/pdf/11022-Medicare-Diabetes-Coverage.pdfIt could very well be how the doctor filled out the form and that he/she did not say the right things. Its not about T1 or T2, it about using insulin and the need to check BG levels. In this day and age adding a GLP-1 blindly for a PWD already on insulin without a several week AGP does not seem to make good medical sense. Its not 2010 any more. We have the tools today to know what is going on. I would probably pay the $45 and get a second opinion. In addition to afrezza they will know about what is covered for CGMs. www.getafrezza.com/products/ultra-rapid-acting-inhaled-insulin/

Maybe this young 26 yr old PA treating my dad is not being honest with us,.. but this is what she is telling us... She might be managing risk as it may not be safe for him to be managing his own diabetes anymore or be on insulin... He was having many hypos... He really should be in a nursing home but is refusing to go.. I don't blame him!!!
There is so much misinformation out there.. WOW!!!

The big difference today is we have two paradigm shifting tools; the CGM; afrezza. Without an AGP everyone including the 26 yr old PA is just guessing. Before Richard Bernstein we did not even have the glucose monitor and if it was not for him we may not have it today. The fight they gave him was nearly as bad as the fight we are currently in with afrezza. This guy had to become a doctor because he felt like Rodney Dangerfield and would just get laughed at and told to go away.

Youre not getting it Sayhey, my dad CANT manage it anymore.. and we can't be there all of the time... I think this is why the PA did this... We are dealing with CHF and kidney failure and dementia too...and severe depression to boot. Otherwise I agree with everything you are saying... The PA is young.. and doing what she thinks is right.. I'm not exactly happy with her given what I just found out..

HOLD and piss 'em off!
They want the useless bottom feeders (the meek retail holders) gone...all of them (which is us).
This is going to drop below $2 in March and one more slap from the FDA and their mission will be fully accomplished.
I joined MNKD by invitation as a "friend or family member" 7/28/2004; I knew the Mann family at the time.
I never, ever saw this coming in a million years but with Al's death the incompetent took over followed by the thieves.
They are working their plan just as Putin is working his plan and all we can do is observe, shake our heads with disbelief and be thankful for what we have.
