It's amazing how MNKD has NO NEWS to release. They have no new developments??? What ever happened to the NEXT GEN Afrezza?? Al Mann said during the Sanofi days that they (Sanofi) would have the rights to the next generation of Afrezza. I can't believe they are holding their breath on UTHR Approval. A couple weeks later and still this is true. “Holding our breath” is the new “rest and grow.” But we can hold our breath a few more weeks if it means getting good news from FDA. However this recent price action not helping matters any. |

Lately this board has been so quiet that I’ve been trying to post just to help circulate the air. I’ve even tried to spin my posts to be less negative and to include some positivity. But take a look at our share price action (oh never mind, I see you have been paying attention) and our Afrezza script numbers, and one could reasonably be far more negative in tone than I have been. Years ago I was among the sunshine brigade that only spouted hopium, entranced by visions of gold veins and riches. So I get it if that’s where you are today, it’s a nice feeling. Today I’m more realistic, disappointed about the colossal failure to bring Afrezza to deserving PWDs, but still of the opinion that MNKD stock is undervalued compared to its potential value. If management can unlock that potential as they’ve promised (someone once said “I always deliver”), my posts will assuredly become more positive in tone. |

And seriously, this board is awesome and it’s like a big dysfunctional family with various disagreements. I own being one of the curmudgeons (every family has them) but in the end we all want the same thing: MNKD shares to the moon. When/if that day happens you’ll see me post “you all were right!!!” and that dish of crow would be more delicious than any plate of nachos!

Steiner the founder of Pharmaceutical Discovery Corporation which eventually became Mannkind, was the scientist and designer of Afrezza, a revolutionary form of insulin that is inhaled rather than injected. The idea for the drug came to Steiner after his 18-month-old niece was diagnosed with diabetes and because of the potential for severe hypoglycemia, the girls' parents had to wake her every evening to check for possible fatal drops in her blood sugar levels. "I wanted to do something to help," he said. Shortly after leaving Mannkind in 2003, Steiner created Biodel, a company that produces a more rapidly absorbed, injectable form of insulin that could be used in pumps. I believe this is what Al Mann was referring to. But to the point; all the scientists have moved on – all that's left are technicians following and implementing their discoveries.
