From Diatribe - diatribe.org/biggest-news-diabetes-technology-highlights-attd-2022Where do you start to dissect this - maybe we start with our old friend Edelman who is now getting into the T2 space big time. They are just now starting to realize CGM use in the T2 space would be a really good thing. Steve gave a debrief on the MOBILE clinical study. This was about T2's on basal using a CGM. Steve's take away was "there was large variability within the group using CGM, leaving questions about why people with type 2 diabetes responded to CGMs inconsistently" Is that surprising? First, the first thing these people lose is post prandial glucose control - aka first phase insulin release. Basal insulin is going to do nothing to help with the post meal spike. These PWDs needed to treat the post meal spike with food and exercise. I have to believe this is a huge variable with a group which started with an A1c at 9+. How about we redo the Mobile clinical study with an afrezza arm? At this point all we need to do is add an arm adding afrezza for prandial control. We don't need to redo the basal CGM and BGM arms. I bet Edelman could knock the ball out of the park with afrezza and significantly reduce the inconsistency.

Thanks for that informative link. I was expecting/hoping to read some takes on Afrezza but didn’t see any mention of it. Is that surprising? I’m not familiar with this conference or what to normally expect from it, but was hoping we would’ve made some sort of impression at least.

Me too. The best afrezza info was from Harry's retweets. Mike on the call said he was there. He needs to bring pre-written stories to hand to the media outlets. He also needs to be calling press conferences to announce the latest and greatest miracles of afrezza. How about a press conference where he does a "Seeing is Believing" demo and handing out MNKD's new Standard of Care for T2s which is based on CGMs and afrezza?
I am not sure how many people read diatribe but they usually have some good info. In this case there are five authors listed. All are out of skrool in the last couple of years and I would really be surprised if any are domain experts. You have to give these people the pre-written story and take them for a drink or two to make sure you get the headline.
Lets hope Mike does better at the ADA. This time around he felt good talking with "thought leaders". Maybe at ADA he can get some headlines.

Agree. It’s nice that all those “thought leaders” were there in one place, but disappointing (to put it mildly) that our representatives did not make headlines or even get a mention in that write up. Hand out literature, do “seeing is believing” demos, make an impression somehow. A sense of urgency is not too much to ask, IMO.
