Sports - thanks for helping our here. If they are in the Philly area and they want to see someone in person another option is Gary Scheiner at IDC. Its located close to Villanova. They don't advertise treating with afrezza but Gary uses it himself. They mostly treat to the SoC and mostly T1s but "experimental" treatment of T2s could be something in their wheelhouse. kippyt mentioned Dallas, but still good to share supportive prescribers. I remember something like that some years ago. I also want to mention that I feel kinda bad for VDEX picking up the cost of CGMs and it made me think that if someone could get a prescription but felt the cost of the CGM was a hardship, it would be a good case for a GoFundMe at the least, but maybe there is a foundation that can help too? I don’t know anything about the cost of using CGM but assume it’s like inkjet supplies in that the printer manufacturers were selling printers at a loss (before they became scarce becuase of lockdowns and people having to work from home) and making the profit on the ink supplies. it’s the insurance, it’s hard to get them covered …it’s easier to get Afrezza. We get the CGM’s from Abbott.

You are correct and with IDC you are going to need cash for both IDC and the supplies. I am thinking about maybe doing something for a friend of mine and funding it and "maybe" using IDC. We will see.

According to Abbott's website, FreeStyle readers and sensors are really not that much if you have commercial insurance: www.freestyle.abbott/us-en/cost.html <--- Click the Link
Most commercially insured patients end up paying between $0 to $60 per month for FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors, §1 and no more than $65 for a FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. §1 Based on prescription claims for commercially insured patients using the FreeStyle Libre 2 System. Does not include Medicare, Medicaid, and uninsured patients. The actual amount a patient pays may vary. The FreeStyle Libre 2 system requires a prescription. And, they even give you one free sensor to get you going.
