Yep a few pennies higher than expected. But fairly typical quad witching day action.

Amazing it closed above 3.5! Don't you add in the premium which was 10 cents. So they technically closed out of the money. I could be wrong.

For calls, a penny over the strike = in the money. Now whether or not you made money, is called the breakeven which is the strike price + the premium paid. Premium has been horribly high with mnkd calls. Depending on how far out if (several weeks or more) it could be 40 cents as example so breakeven would be $3.90 on the $3.50 calls.

And yet the shares were deposited in somebody's account(s) regardless. It is puzzling. I assume the purchaser(s) of the calls aren't stupid and know the commissions and the margin needed to turn a profit, so not sure what else is going on.

"IF" this really was manipulated, it would look quite suspicious to close at exactly $3.50. It was certainly close enough where the high volume of calls were mostly put to rest. Outstanding call Liane!

Ok guys. I look forward in a few months when are discussing this same stuff concerning 10,000 calls at an $8 strike!

Looking forward to seeing the volumes and price action next week as we're now past the Friday calls and moving toward the next quarterly report. Hoping it moves quickly back close to $5 where we were recently...and then!

Outstanding call Liane! Nobody would care. Certainly not the SEC. It never cared to investigate before when there were so many Fail to Delivers for months on end.

Though call options in the money are (I believe) by default exercised, I'm pretty sure the call options can NOT be exercised if the option holder informs the broker in time. After all, a call option is a right, but not an obligation, to buy something.

It was a week to remember. Dropped like a rock. On Thursday I bought that rock. Come Tuesday morning I will be assigned a bigger piece of that rock. What happened Friday? IMO the shorts were closing out.

What was the total volume of shares traded for the week? I can't remember the last time it was this high. I hope it was shorts and options closing out. IMO, algorithm trading is significant but not to this extent of volume. Regardless, something big was happening. This makes the next couple of weeks more interesting.

I had anticipated closing just under $3.50 to kill the calls. I now think someone wanted those 1M shares to cover. So mission accomplished with it closing just above the strike. I'm forever the optimist (else why would I have stayed in MNKD for so long.

Pretty uneventful triple witching our. Yes I meant our, cause our account kept the shares and kept the cash. Need to see the price get above 4 and then 4.5 to give people the confidence to over pay me for the 5.50, 6 and 7 calls I want to sell them. I have been rinsing and repeating on covered calls for 10 years now, sure would love to see this stock move toward the much touted $8 to 10 mark so I can start making real money off selling calls rather than making reasonable % gains that result in peanuts from a $ perspective.
