Celebrations may be in order for MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD) shareholders, with the analysts delivering a significant upgrade to their statutory estimates for the company. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.
Following the upgrade, the latest consensus from MannKind's five analysts is for revenues of US$86m in 2022, which would reflect a major 32% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Before the latest update, the analysts were foreseeing US$78m of revenue in 2022. The consensus has definitely become more optimistic, showing a decent improvement in revenue forecasts.
These estimates are interesting, but it can be useful to paint some more broad strokes when seeing how forecasts compare, both to the MannKind's past performance and to peers in the same industry. It's clear from the latest estimates that MannKind's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 73% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2022 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 11% p.a. over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 16% annually. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that MannKind is expected to grow much faster than its industry
The Bottom Line
The highlight for us was that analysts increased their revenue forecasts for MannKind this year. They're also forecasting more rapid revenue growth than the wider market. Seeing the dramatic upgrade to this year's forecasts, it might be time to take another look at MannKind.

The robot written articles are getting better and better but are still a waste of time. No analysis or knowledge about the company itself.

I find it useful to look at the potential negatives listed and the two seem in the rear view mirror. Negative shareholder value is about to improve drastically in the next 2 quarters. Dilution is not an issue at this point, unless there is another curve ball Mike throws at us which I see it as highly unlikely. So the recent price drop may be a short-term technical reaction but it is interesting how at least 2 posters started throwing FUD right about when this started. Make one not help but think that they may be part of the swamp.

Is dilution really off the table? Is there a share price where it would make sense to dilute to raise cash for the long-term security of being able to fund future pipelines? Or can tyvaso + afrezza + vgo profits comfortably sustain us? Knowing how the xmas massacre went and the justification behind it, I dont feel dilution is ever fully off the table until we are turning over some major profits each quarter.

Make one not help but think that they may be part of the swamp. I find it interesting that basically when things are looking good for MNKD, something always goes south ! For example, when share price gets to $5-$6, it will then take a nose dive....its just a fact, it always happens. The weird thing is, every time stock price gets to $5-$6, there seems to be a good reason for it going higher and that finally we are going to see what we all know should have happened the last time and finally our perseverance is going to pay off or at least look to be headed that way. But, I really dont get this last nose dive from beginning approx 2 weeks ago in January. We had a great 2022 3Qtr earnings call with huge upside for 2022 4Qtr results with the blockbuster Tyvaso DPI first billion $ drug. Along with JPM conference and the future pipeline drugs along with soon to be trial results. The stars finally seem to be lining up in our favor! Can anyone explain this ? |

I predicted the current moves were coming and am not surprised. I dont believe naked shorting is the cause but more so day trading and swing trading coupled with a 30mill share short position which needs to be reduced and or reset higher. I am expecting a trend higher with larger daily and weekly swings in the PPS on higher volume.
Not withstanding some cataclysmic event such as a BP partnership or blackswan market event I see this as to be expected with the good news being our fundamentals are now putting a floor under our pps and our long term trend is up and to the right.

I understand day trading, as I do it myself to get my average PPS down from the beating I took in the 5:1 reverse split, thus is the reason I have margin. But it seems odd with MNKD fundamentals in great shape and should be showing profits here in a few weeks 4th Qrtr call, I'm surprized that a few million shares daily continue to dive and continue to sell cheaper and cheaper. I would think people would not sell their stocks this cheap knowing that, as you say PPS upside trend is more than likely. How do you know 30mil shares are being loaned out to short? Is this the reason for the stock manipulation to try to cover themselves ? |

My non-expert market opinion believes that a very near term positive event is on the horizon and while we wait on Q4 results, the trickle down is set in place by the algorithms and market machinery in order to allow for the orderly exit of short positions (so as not to trigger a squeeze) and, to prepare for the next accumulation phase in the accumulation/distribution cycle. By now, must here have seen it repeatedly, we don't fear it, we will take advantage of it and we will profit from it.
