I didn't realize it, but in August this board began its 10th year of operation. Many of you probably came over to this board when liane founded it following the dissolution of her previous board, just as I did. I didn't know much about MNKD yet at the time. I was admin of two other ProBoards I had founded, one for LVS and one for GMCR, and liane had been my trusty co-admin for years on the GMCR board, so I was happy to return the favor and help out here on her new board, contributing some of the infrastructure we'd hammered out, along with some of my time. I still don't know all that much about biotech or the minutiae of MannKind (as you probably know from the relative scarcity of my posts among the core forums here) but I was convinced of the potential, as I'm guessing everyone still here probably was and/or still is. Soon, though, I made the mistake of investing more in MNKD than I could afford to lose... and got crushed.
It was a learning experience, to be sure. It took several years of "real" work to build back my reserves--those were the years you didn't see me much around here at all--and being a bit more cautious (and lucky, with TSLA) I finally created enough free time to be able to help out here again, and even (although I had to hold my nose a bit) take a modest position in MNKD again...but this time one I can actually afford to lose.
It's been a rough ten years, or longer for a bunch of you. But we're heading into 2023 with what seems to be a nice tailwind for a change, and the best kind of up-ramp: slow and steady. For the true disruptors, global/national economic trends don't seem to be all that important, so impending possible recession or not, if things keep going MNKD's way, the PPS will follow. This group is a stubborn bunch, hopefully reflecting the determination of MNKD management... or maybe it's vice-versa?
Compared to the early days of this board the active staff is pretty small now. Much gratitude to porkini for accepting his surprise appointment to help out, he didn't have to do that. liane is the heart and soul of the board, while porkini and I do our best to take some of the workload off liane when we can. What makes it possible for the few of us to comfortably cover the needs of the board is all of you, our members, who have been so cooperative and easygoing w/r/t the board rules and the maintaining of common courtesy. In financial message boards, those things are not actually all that common, and we thank you so very much for making our volunteer positions here pretty much as easy as it's possible for them to be.
Happy New Year to all, and may our MNKD positions finally produce the results we all know are possible while we're still all physically able to get together for a serious victory party!

Thanks and happy new year! Be here since May 2014, in and out repeatedly, still underwater but not sad anymore!

Thank you BD and Liane for your time, balance and overall dedication. I know many are far better for it, being under water or not. Your facilitation of this discussion and sharing board contributed greatly to the following MNKD has and to the knowledge we are armed with if only one wanted to spend a little time to learn and think for themselves. God Bless you all.

Thank you BD and Liane for all you do. It’s hard for me to believe it has been 10 years. I too have invested way more than I had planned but I’m glad I did. I bit the bullet and loaded up when the stock collapsed to under $1.00. Seeing green was a long time coming but I am under no illusion that I can’t go in the red again. I am much more hopeful now, though. Good luck to everyone and especially to those who stuck it out - you know who you are 😉.

It takes people who are willing to be strong and dedicated to create a place where information can be organized and well thought out. I have definitely learned that over the years.
I have nothing against the Yahoo and stock twits individual members, however the format allows a lot of emotional responses and a massive amount of posts that are political, satire or just useless.
Members or bots there can flood the stream with disinformation or repetitive posts. Yes you can block individuals but you may be left with an echo chamber of ideas that fit your own beliefs which is the worst possible situation when creating a personal conclusion.
Here information is organized, searchable and on topic. That doesn't just happen. Thank you all in making it great.

That's why liane and I both jumped to ProBoards from Yahoo and other platforms, so we could take control of the signal/noise ratio. This board has IMO turned into a poster child for what's possible with even-handed moderation and a modicum and time investment from the staff. After 20+ years of moderating several boards myself, sometimes liane and I still disagree...and what I've found is, she's usually right. Thanks, liane!

(I need a new computer, having trouble with posting under a quote.) It's not you! It's a known PB bug. Suggestion: if you find yourself "trapped" in a quote and can't get under it, switch to "BBCode" view and add some blank lines under the quote. Although I typically just cancel the post and start over, because initially the cursor is in the right place but if you click into the quote you lose your chance LOL.
