IMO there is nothing concerning about the volume, it is a thing of beauty

Flat as day old beer.
Still looks better than the DOW and NASDAQ.

Volume is down to 1.5 mill for the day, and short interest is up 1.5 mill for a 2 week period seems almost poetic.

I chuckled at your post, but there was no laugh button. It got removed. What gives? Laugh button is erratic. Sometimes there and sometimes not. How odd. How do different versions of code run one time and then not the next? Hmmm, load distribution across a set of inconsistent code sets. I hope its a software change management problem and not something worse.

Oh no, that sounds ominous, let’s hope it’s not something worse. But don’t fret, it’s all gonna be ok with the laugh button. It’s lower on the concern list than naked shorting. And as we once heard from some wise folks, always look on the bright side of life! 😀

prcgorman2,
Having been a developer in a previous life a code "branch" can be hard to find without extensive testing. There is a place in the code that will either show the icon or branch in a different direction based on the criteria placed before it at the time of execution.
If the code is not crashing it makes finding that lost "branch" even more difficult. I am presuming that given the time and the right testing tools a developer could walk through the code line by line and manipulate the criteria in real time to find the problem.

prcgorman2, Having been a developer in a previous life a code "branch" can be hard to find without extensive testing. I too once wrote code for a living. I was slow and methodical and tested the daylights out of what I wrote, documented the daylights out of it too or I would get lost. I got compliments from other coders for how easy it was to maintain what I wrote. Did I mention I was slow? I also didn’t enjoy it enough, and took enough courses in enough different languages and coding styles I was very confident I needed a career change, and so I did. I recently taught myself Python for testing a couple of ways to search some databases, and that was kind of fun, but I don’t see me ever going back to it full time. I’m not sure how busy Proboards is and how much they have to manage, but a common web platform design uses multiple instances of the same software running on different hardware and/or different virtual environments (as you know) and front-ended by a load distribution appliance. Maintenance activities can (intentionally) result in inconsistent code sets but it’s intended to be temporary. Sometimes temporary turns into a long time. I like your insight though because while I understand what you’re saying (more or less) it didn’t occur to me so I’m glad you shared it. I have liked the addition of the laugh button so I hope they’re able to get it working reliably. Because of the puzzling jump in volume of shares traded that appears at the end of almost every trading day, I want to give a shout out to Harryx1’s excellent posts on the naked shorting investigators. It seems GME and AMC were the start of activist investor actions, but not the end. Enough people have figured out just how criminal and corrupt the big player trading practices are that there appears to be a groundswell which may shine enough light on the problem to result in material improvements, either by exposing trade information (to the SEC) or by finding new ways to trade which bypass the corrupt system. We live in interesting times.
