I just ran into a Yahoo Finance interview with Nick Jonas at SXSW and he is heavily promoting Dexcom but no peep about Afrezza. He was also saying that he is getting excellent results with CGM and that very, very few people know about even Dexcom. If you listen closely starting at 4:15 you could see where Afrezza would dfit in like a glove for Nick.
Would it not be wonderful if MNKD could sit down with Nick and guide him through the benefits of Dexcom with Afrezza? Wow, I am sure the stock would double literally overnight but even better, the patient exposure would be just what Al Mann (RIP) was envisioning so many years ago. Mike C, what do you think?
The article is called "Why Nick Jonas is raising diabetes awareness at SXSW".
What do you think? Anyone here who can tune Mike into this?

ceda your idea is so 2018. Just kidding, it is a good idea and Nick Jonas would immediately raise the profile of Afrezza. But the idea has been around for years and Mike certainly is aware of the possibilities. For whatever reason it hasn’t been accomplished, but we did have Conor Daly.

Good call, let’s not forget Brec 👍🏼 (definite step up from Conor though no Indy 500 infield passes perk)

And good ol' what's his name, the hip hop guy. Wait, it'll come to me. Oh yeah, Damon Dash.

Dash he was on it right away. Then I posted about it to the shareholders.
I’m sure we talked about Nick then, but there wasn’t an opportunity or he could’ve reached out.

It’s a great idea though to revisit these celebrities… if anybody hears of anybody like that using Afrezza I would email Mike right away. I really hoped that they could get Rob Kardashian on it.

Well, Nick is heavily onto CGM. Now that we have some tests under our belt that we can go back to Nick with, my hope is that he would be interested now more than he was at that time. At minute 4:15 or so in that interview, Nick was saying how during concerts his team can see when a low sugar period will start to hit and prepare him for it in advance. With Afrezza he would probably not need anywhere near that much preparation.

Gotta wait for all 3 current trials to read out positively. India, Peds, ABC. Then we will be negotiating from a "position of strength."(tongue in cheek...sort of)
Until we get a label change and coverage is in place without PA's, it's not worth spending big money to promote it. We're still a year or two away from hiring someone like Jonas.
Not saying never. And it sounds weird saying this after all this time but it's just too soon. IMHO

With Afrezza he would probably not need anywhere near that much preparation. He is getting caught up on the basal insulin. The problem is that exercise, fast twitch muscle fibres specifically, pulls glucose directly from the blood bypassing the need for insulin entirely. He uses an Omnipod so he will be running a temporary basal profile (less than normal) to allow for exercise, but if he works to hard his levels will drop. As it is someone can plant a soda somewhere he can pick it up when they see him dropping.
