I was there! I kept thinking it wouldn't be long until the production capacity of that place wouldn't be enough. Ha. I remember thinking at that time I hoped they would need to build another facility in a geographically diverse location both for capacity and business continuity. Sounds like MNKD and UTHR are moving that way as well. For sure Mike spent some time talking about adding capacity for Tyvaso DPI, especially if the additional indications are approved. I got the feeling they are having to manage through the demand. A good problem to have although adding capacity is not a trivial exercise or a quick one. |

I think I heard Mike C say that T-DPI production will triple by the end of the quarter. Did anyone else hear that?

I asked 3 questions:
Q1. Why is Phase 2/3 faster than the normal FDA process for Clofazimine?
A: It shaves 2 to 3 years off the normal sequential process of Phase 2 and then 3. They already have a good idea of dosing so they don’t need Phase 2.
Q2. Why nebulizer for Clofazimine first and not DPI out of the gate?
A: They want to make sure they fully understand the characteristics of Clofazimine before they develop the DPI study protocol. Also, the nebulized approach was already well along in the process and there wasn’t a point in slowing down. They want to be the to market as soon as possible with DPI to follow.
Q3. Are you investing in a pipeline beyond what we see that is visible to the public?
A: (I did not understand his answer on this as well. I will have to listen to the transcript.)

What he said was "we are about to triple production" of Tyvaso DPI. He did not explain what "about to" means. He explained in more detail in the most recent earnings call and in the interview with RBC Capital. He described that there was a "drying" bottleneck in the process. They're increasing capacity for that function with the result being a 3x improvement in production. |
