Spiro is still around, but very quiet and subdued. For they past 3 weeks Spiro has been suffering from both mental pain (MNKD ) and physical pain (shingles). Dr. Shum's excellent presentation has alleviated my mental pain. I particularly liked the part where he said Afrezza cannot cause hypoglycemia. My physical pain is about 90% gone. Because of the shingles vaccine I got 6 years ago, my case was relatively minor.

Well, Spiro, if you think the shingles and the price of MNKD stock are not related, think again! I'm glad you had a relatively minor case, shingles can be so debilitating! Come to California when you're 100%, we'll play golf and visit Matt and Roberta (unless they are too busy filling cartridges).
I suffered, and continue to suffer, mental pain from Kershaw's meltdown last night against Cardinals (a pox on your city, rak!!).
Will look forward to listening to Dr. Shum this evening, have to go watch another likely disappointing sporting even, this time of the football variety, late this afternoon, when it will only be about 100 degrees out, but the second half will be pleasant!

Ah, yes. I was aware of the Union College presentation...did not connect with the name.
I am still looking for a focused resource to share with my PCP. Since Dr. Shum is a device man, that might explain his awkwardness with drug physiology. And he is not an accomplished speaker, so it takes a while for him to deliver the information. I liked the comparisons among Dreamboat and prior devices; the PK profile; the advantages of monomer vs. hexamer; and the potential use for pain relief.
What have you found to be the best resources for conveying this information to a physician?

We miss your realistic optimism...

Spiro, I hope you're recovering well and that the pain goes away. I hear shingles is a very difficult thing to deal with. Last year my 89-year-old father had a mild case. I guess we all need to take the shingles shot sooner than later. Perhaps it can be delivered in the future by technosphere.

I contracted shingles about 20 years after the bout of chicken pox...and before the shot was available. Nasty stuff...and all the more likely if you've had chicken pox. I hope today's treatment protocols offer better relief for you. We do miss you...and could use a bit of an uplift if you could use your dry wit to muster an encouraging word...! --4B
