There are some posters here who would be called names (short, fake-long, etc) if they said "we will not see accelerated growth until 2025." But when mango says that, it's noteworthy. The key to retiring is ... make good investments ... and sweep the neighborhood streets and have people leave you a quarter or so every week. Then you take those quarters and go to Las Vegas and play the slots. My last trip to Las Vegas made me $35,000 richer. But, that's mytakeonit I personally lose money when I visit Vagas and most of my friends. You must be extremely lucky or very good at gambling like your investments. You seem to win every time you go to Vagas. |

Actually I am a very good gambler ... except when you have other players on the BJ table that say "I have a hunch" when the dealer is showing a 6 and takes a hit and gets a 10 and busts. I have a $3G bet and sitting on 20. Dealer take a hit and gets a 5 to make 21.
(My $3G bet started with a $25 initial bet and I kept punching it up.). The young female dealer told me that she was sorry. She was learning to deal with a manager watching her. I told her that it wasn't her fault so not to worry about it. I told them that I'll try some slots to change my luck. I left the table up $500.
I went to Megabucks and played for a couple of minutes and hit a triple bar, 4X Mega, and a 5X Mega which paid a little more than $4500. The casino people paid me in cash and told me to roll it off. The 3X mega came out in the spin ... and the payoff people said "Awww ... you should have had that earlier !" I thought "Really? ... No POOP!!!" So I left to play a $2 carousel that looked interesting. First spin I hit $10G !!!! The same casino people came to pay me ... and told me to roll it off. On that spin I hit $20k !!! And told them is that better? Ha! I tipped those 2 casino people $100 on the first hit ... and $200 on the second hit. When I spun that off ... the casino people looked more excited than I did. Ha!

I sure hope you can bring some of your luck to MNKD. While you may be good and lucky, so far our management has not been so good. If it was not for the lucky call from Martine I am not sure this board would still exist. Its time for Lady Luck to make a showing.

Ahhh ... no luck involved. The plan is in motion and I have no doubts about it. Cash flow break even coming up.
This is easier than gambling ... just a little slower in getting an outcome.

Oh I just read that this guy won almost $10.5M playing on MegaBucks at the Cannery after playing only $40.
This reminds me of the time that a slot machine mechanic came to the machine that I was playing and asked if he could check out my machine. I said he could and he hit the cash out button and gave me the receipt. He then opened the machine and did some clean up and also flipped this switch before closing the machine. I asked him ..."it doesn't seem that there was a problem with the machine, but I did see you flip that switch. Does that mean that I haven't won for awhile and I'm going to hit something now?" He was quite honest with me and said "Yes. The machine has to pay out a certain percentage in a shift and this machine is behind in pay outs. It should hit something very soon." He stayed around for a little while acting like he was adjusting his tool bag. Three spins later I hit $1G. I shook his hand and gave him $100 hidden ... because they aren't supposed to accepts tips to avoid collusion charges. He also told me that I should play it for awhile longer because he doesn't know how far behind this machine was in payouts so it could continue a bit more.
So, if you go to Las Vegas and see a carousel that a lot of people have played on and it's not hitting ... jump on those machines when they leave.

cretin11 says that I'm a good fisherman ... but actually I am known to be a Good Samaritan to have done a lot of good deeds. The first being at a relatives day time gathering when I decided to walk outside and check out the neighborhood. I was passing this drainage ditch and heard someone near the water line. It was one of the neighbors who was trying to cut a tree that was blocking the ditch causing water to rise up in the area. It was obvious that in maybe a half hour the ditch would start to overflow and the surrounding houses/area would be flooded. He was trying to cut the tree in half. I told him to cut the branches instead and the tree will probably turn and go down with the flow of water. He cut two branches and yep ... the tree turned and went down stream and the back up was resolved.
The second was when I had just graduated from high school and was working at a construction site to make money for college. I was driving back to town on a 2 lane highway where traffic was starting to back up. After I saw that no one was moving, I drove my VW bug to the side of the road that had an edging. My VW had good clearance so I could do this easily. That's where I saw that a tree had fallen down onto the road and the cars couldn't get by. I parked my car about 30 feet down the road and walked back up. I cleared some debris from the area that I drove and was able to clear enough that cars could pass thru if they go slowly. I waved the cars to pass thru and a few did go thru while I was looking at the situation. (Other cars didn't follow because people wanted to see what I was going to do.) That's when I heard someone's wife yell at the husband to "GO AND HELP HIM !!!" I asked him if he had tools in his car ... and he said no. I told him that I do construction work but the tools are all kept at the job site.
I looked at the tree and told him that I think we might be able to turn the tree and be able to roll it off onto the side of the road into the drainage ditch. We were able to turn it and without too much trouble the tree started to roll into the ditch due to the pitch in the road. That's when all the cars starting to toot their horns and everyone was cheering !!! That's when I turned to see a police car driving up the highway going in the wrong direction. I told the guy ... "Oh Oh ... I hope we're not in trouble !" The cop heard me and said ... "No, you two did everyone a favor by getting the tree off the road. He said that it would have taken about 3 hours for the City and County crew to come up and clear it !!!" Everyone started to toot their horns again and I waved for all the cars to go down the road. Then someone yelled "No let him go first !!!" So I had to run to my car because everyone was waiting for me!
Turns out that the first cars that went thru saw this police car and told him about what was happening. He said that he was thinking about why the traffic had stopped and had to come up to see what was going on.
Whew!!! No ticket for me !!!

Congrats on that reallocation myocat. You shifted money from stagnant to dynamic, your bank account thanks you. I'm still plenty heavy in the laggard MNKD, but fortunately diversification in several of the "magnificent 7" have made a huge positive difference. No signs of any big impending upward move in MNKD but it's a long play for me (much longer than ever anticipated). I believe we will not see accelerated growth until 2025. That’s when one new pipeline candidate will be added, a approval or a new indication, etc. will be rolling out yearly. We will have Clofazimine and Afrezza Peds approvals by then as well. Diversification is important, which is why I only invest in index funds and follow the Jack Bogle approach to investing since a couple years ago. I’ve put all the money I am comfortable investing into MannKind so now it is just a waiting game for me. I have patience and time on my side so no problemo. I think MNKD will see profit in late 2025. Good luck to all. I might get back if price is right. |
