I would like that the Oppenheimer raise on share price target and "analyst consensus" of STRONG BUY would be the reason for the sharp increase, but I would frankly be as surprised by that as I would by technical analysis being the reason. My suspicious nature wonders if there is news that hasn't yet broken. I'm pleased that UTHR is part of the run up, because I've become increasingly concerned Boehringer Ingelheim (makers of Jardiance and Ofev) will consider a buyout of MannKind if the nintedanib DPI Phase 1 trial goes well (which I assume it should). I'm not against a buyout, but would be very sorry that it would happen now while the share price is less than $10 and where the premium on a BO would be about $12 per share. I think a well-negotiated partnership for Ofev DPI could yield $1 to $2 EPS by 2030. Therefore I would much prefer technicals or analyst opinions (and fundamentals) be the reason for the increase in share price and so it comforts me UTHR is also enjoying a similar run because it implies there could be news other than a buyout, but perhaps still not publicly disclosed. From the naked eye it would seem $200-300M+ was invested in seconds (minutes?) today. |

MannKind and United Therapeutics will be presenting at both the Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo conferences. Still question why the run up, and whether it will continue. Regardless, it was a very good day!

Regardless, it was a very good day! I have been waiting for the break out. UTHR broke out at $251 dollars now trading $359. I have been waiting for UTHR share price to pull MNKD share price up. The partnership and all.... |

I suppose that you could say I am saying what I’m about to say because MNKD has been up a great deal in the last few days, but I have been in this stock since Al Mann was alive, there was no FDA approval, Sanofi was a dream come true that subsequently became a nightmare, and Martin Shrkeli was shorting the stock to near oblivion. Throughout it all I have been accumulating shares, some as low as $.96, and I now have a boatload in the 10’s of thousands that are now profitable. The only reason I have done what I have done is for one thing, and only one thing - I BELIEVE IN THE TECHNOLOGY. Go Mannkind!

Three investor conferences in the next week or 2. Two of the conferences are Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo, and both of those will be attended by both MNKD and UTHR. That conjunction may have also happened in the past, but I don’t remember ever having seen that. Does it mean anything? I assume those are not co-presentations, but maybe same basic analysts in both? Again, don’t know. Just find it curious. My memory of these things is that mostly you can’t tell that any institutional investors make any purchases at or soon after the conferences, but I have a weak (i.e., perhaps false) memory of a “surprise” at one of them (meaning a buy spurt) in the last year, kind of like the nudge from ADA. What I would like is for the current bull run to be investors front running those conferences. Ok, NOW I’m dreaming, cuz I sure don’t have any solid information on these speculations.

Wells Fargo conference today. The markets have been volatile. Perhaps today will be bargain hunting and a bump up for good ol’ MannKind.
