Afrezza, 2023 - Blue Shield, CA, Silver copay was $250. 2024 it's $538.57. Box of 4s and 8s. Complete BS I'm finally getting around to order more Afrezza and was going through the steps on Mannkind website to contact them on how to get my Afrezza at a lower cost. I went back into the app of my pharmacy to confirm my co-pay and, surprise surprise, the co-pay is now $0. I placed my order and will keep you updated. The copay @ $0 was a glitch w the pharmacy's app. The co-pay is now showing, $538.57. Unfortunate.

Try contacting your local Afrezza rep. Usually the cash program only works for people whose insurance doesn’t cover Afrezza at all but I’d imagine they could probably pull some strings to get it to you for $100/box if that’s still doable.

If MannKind ever wants Afrezza to be successful in the marketplace, they're going to have to figure out how to get the costs down and the insurance coverage up. I'm preaching to the choir of course, so I'll add my apologies to the disappointment I feel for you.

It's fair to say MannKind markets Afrezza better than Sanofi who abrogated a world-wide marketing agreement and whose sales used 500+ sales staff. It was the replacement of the Sanofi CEO Chris Viehbacher with Oliver Brandicoot that precipitated the end of the agreement. Brandicoot had previously presided over the disastrous launch and failure of Exubera inhalable RAA insulin (very different from Afrezza) at Pfizer. Even so, the insurance coverage and cost issues remain and that needs to change.

The author pointed out it would be impossible to sell less than Sanofi did. The closing of his 2016 article was prescient:
By addressing the sales objections that stymied Sanofi’s efforts, MannKind will easily generate more sales than Sanofi ever did. Since Sanofi has set the bar so low, MannKind’s success is likely to surprise Wall Street on the upside. However, in order for MannKind to become a home-run for investors and a paradigm shift for diabetics, the claim of “better A1Cs” needs to be supported with data so it can be openly used to market Afrezza.

Meh... but it does beat flying hamburgers! Would probably be an award winner More to the point ! You recognize the add … Sadly, not for the reason you are suggesting. I remember it for all the hype it received on this message board before we even knew how the ad would look. Then i recall the dismay most of us had when the ad actually appeared, because it wasn't nearly as good as we'd hoped. Of course, we knew the regulatory challenges to making a good drug commercial, so they do tend to have an inane quality to them. Regardless, we were still excited about the fact of having any ad on TV, and we waited in vain for TRx to reflect the marketing. Yes, as a loyal cult member MNKD investor I remember the ad. Unfortunately 99% of diabetics would not recognize the ad.
