[I'm re-pinning this because I don't think the message has been received. -BD]
From time to time, I see comments being made to the tune of, "If I can't post it in the main forum, no one will see it."
This is untrue, if members use the features of the board effectively.
The way I read the board is I go to the home page, the one listing all the different forums, and I look for the little blue "New" label on a folder icon. That means there have been posts to that forum since the last time I checked it. I can make the call as to whether or not I want to read the new posts. After I've entered that forum, whether I've read the actual new posts or not, that "New" label disappears.
So you can always tell where the new posts are. Once you've checked the forums you're actually interested in, just click on "Mark All Boards Read" on the home page under "Threads and Posts" and all the "New" notifications will be reset.
Alternatively, you can go to the bottom of the home page and click on Recent Posts, you will see all of the new posts from every thread in the order they were posted.
All of these ways of catching up require about equal effort regardless of the forum where the new posts appear.
If somebody posts something on another message board that you believe is important enough to share here, you're welcome to post it but please do so in the appropriate sub-forum. Keep in mind we may still choose to delete posts from that forum if we deem them to lack social redeeming value.
