Wondering if Big Al called the market makers and said the short game is over - he's no longer lending out his shares. LOL

Can someone that knows more about the mechanics of borrowing and shorting large blocks answer a question... once your shares are lent, do you have the ability to call them in anytime?

Let's put it this way, you can sell them at any time. Obviously, your interest ceases to accrue at that point. If you weren't left with the power to sell them, well, it would be very, very, very stupid to ever lend them.

Market gets real interesting when SEC allows more shares to be "made" at will. Seems MM and brokers can make "back room" deals with YOUR stock. Guess it's just like our government "printing" money. And to think I thought they controlled the "authorized" shares, geez.

Anyone know how many shares are available to borrow? I read on stocktwits that it was less than 3,000. If so, someone turned off the spigot.

Joeypotsandpans just posted the available shares on the TA thread. FYI, that was from Interactive Brokers only, there are shares available at other houses but IB is one of the bigger ones IMO on MNKD. I did check with a friend that works with BONY/Mellon (Pershing) and they had some to lend at 13%. My post about the IB availability was more along the lines of what was available yesterday pre open and where it stands now.

Now down to 3540 shares. Normally there is close to 1,000,000 shares on Fidelity to short.

Now down to 3540 shares. Normally there is close to 1,000,000 shares on Fidelity to short. So the question is why...my guess is today's CC is causing shareholders to wait until the CC so they don't get surprised by an unexpected announcement from MNKD. Let's see how the CC goes then check tomorrow on the available shares.

I don't see why the shorts after the CC don't resume business as usual...
There wasn't any new news on the call that would have us think a stock pop was imminent...
We as longs in MNKD will need to wait until Sanofi speaks on Nov 20, when looking for any near term catalysts.
I'd expect low volume trading for at least the next few weeks...sorry option owners...
I'm looking at a return to ~5$ before buying.
