More subjects utilizing inhaled insulin achieved glycemic targets: 30% of inhaled insulin group reached <7% (HbA1c) at 17 weeks vs. 17% of the usual care group
30% vs 17% is a 76% improvement over usual care group. (13÷17)
21% of inhaled insulin group vs. 0% of usual care group met A1c goal of <7% if baseline was >7%
21% vs 0% over the usual care group!
24% of the Afrezza group and 13% of the usual care group achieved TIR above 70% with no increased hypoglycemia in the inhaled insulin group.
24% vs 13% is an 86% improvement over the usual care group (11÷13).
Conclusion - Inhaled insulin to treat Type 1 diabetes is superior to usual care treatments.

Who are people going to listen to, shareholders on a message board or the CEO of the company? The CEO is not saying "superior". If he could he would. “The people” that matter in this case are not investors, they are endocrinologists. They won’t care as much whether something is claimed to be non-inferior or superior as much as results of studies. We’ve been reminded of this data bias over and over. Endos are the subject matter experts of the medical community for diabetes care. This is the reason the study and resulting symposium is aimed at endos. They are influencers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). They’re going to look at the results and who is presenting them and be interested in learning more via Q&A if nothing else. That may be the definition of success for this effort.

Nice results. I hope this helps convince docs to get this drug into the hands of people who can use it. I have watched too many people suffer from this disease. Two of those I loved dearly and they died more than a decade too early (71 and 73). So those of you who know more about the medical world, is this enough to move doctors to learn more about Afrezza? Are they more likely to accept appointments with MNKD reps? It certainly gives the reps a data driven tool that builds the drug’s credibility. I guess I’m really asking given how long the drug has been on the market, is this study enough to make a significant impact with docs?

Interesting they didnt mention the actual a1c before and after among the two groups. Couple reasons. We don’t know if baseline was same for the groups but even if it was study says some people got worse on afrezza. Missed doses perhaps.

The preponderance of evidence points to Afrezza being very safe and effective and a value tool for PWDs.
Key sub-analysis findings included:
More subjects utilizing inhaled insulin achieved glycemic targets: 30% of inhaled insulin group reached <7% (HbA1c) at 17 weeks vs. 17% of the usual care group
21% of inhaled insulin group vs. 0% of usual care group met A1c goal of <7% if baseline was >7%
24% of the Afrezza group and 13% of the usual care group achieved TIR above 70% with no increased hypoglycemia in the inhaled insulin group
No difference in CGM-measured hypoglycemia between the groups
Study helps to establish a titrated basal-bolus ratio that is approximately 70/30 inhaled insulin to basal vs. 50/50 for usual care
While more people met the glycemic target of A1c (less than 7%) with Afrezza, some subjects worsened when switching from usual care to inhaled insulin, potentially due to missing doses of inhaled insulin during the day and/or underdosing going into bedtime
More than 50% of subjects at the end of the study expressed an interest in continuing to use Afrezza
Obviously better initial education about how to properly use Afrezza is needed. We can’t have people doing worse when switching to Afrezza due to underdosing and missed doses.
I think these data points to some strong positive results. Afrezza was superior in many aspects. Let’s see what the final study results reveal in the near future.

So is anyone still in doubt that MNKD will hit $10/share in a flash ? Sorry MTOI but yes everyone is in doubt about that. If you’re not sure, just check the options premiums. You can gain good info from those.

These results speak well of the future of Afrezza I am confident Mike is not just sitting back using them as talking points. This years ADA presence and investment is very real. Traders trade the news investors know what they own.

I guess it all boils down to what your definition of a flash is.

Covered calls till Aug. 16th ... ahhh ... price will fly past $10 before the conference call early Aug. If you know how and what to play in Las Vegas ... you will always be a winner. Last trip to Vegas ... totally comped for 3 suites, meals, shows, limo, etc ... and still won another $35k even though I just missed MegaBucks. If you know what you're doing ... it's easy. But, that's mytakeonit But you're like superhuman in an ability to never lose... you've told us that. It doesn't necessarily apply to mere humans. Just wish you'd stop withholding your powers and apply them to your years and years long predictions of $10 being a few months away.

I believe we will see that $10 before the Aug. quarterly ... due to recent news and analysts predictions.
About Las Vegas ... if you aren't well versed in playing table games ... you should play the $1 slots. You receive a lot of player points and high visibility where the house will give you comps. If you play a lot ... the house will even assign you a host to assist in your needs. There are even some 2 coin machines that you can play.
If you don't have much $$$ ... you can play Keno and receive free drinks while doing so. A trick to winning here is to get a blank card and mark the numbers that come up. After playing awhile, you will notice that a lot of numbers will very rarely come up. My reasoning for this is that the balls are not all evenly weighted and will cause a deviation. Later you will notice that certain numbers come up more frequently than others ... play a 4 spot ticket for the minimum buy in. When you see that this is working ... then you can increase your bet size when your cash holding grow. You can also increase the number of spots you pick to increase your winnings. When my wife and I used this technique (early in our gambling years) ... We were winning quite a bit of $$$ and the cashier asked how we were winning so often with minimal tickets. My mistake was explaining it to him. Next trip to Las Vegas we found that the house was changing the balls at least twice a day. Oops! Sorry people! It didn't really affect us because I learned how to play blackjack profitably ... and how to set the dice to consistently throw 6's and 8's.
Also, when you play the slots and order a drink ... most people will tip the cocktail hostess maybe a buck or less. I normally will tip her $2 for every drink that she brings me. After awhile, they will know you well and bring you drinks without you even asking. I drink wine ... and the hostesses will get me the best wine available from the "high roller room". When they become your friend ... that's when you should ask them which machines are paying out jackpots often. Since they are all over the casino ... they know which machines pay off often. When I play and hit a jackpot on those machines ... I will also give them a huge tip depending on the amount of the win.
But, I rarely go to Vegas now unless my family wants to go. Why? Because I found out that I can make more $$$ in the stock market.
But, that's mytakeonit

Vegas is most fun for those that do enjoy their free drinks... and never learned statistics... or tend to forget what statistics they've learned after a few of those free drinks. Went with a friend once that showed me his winnings from the slots the next morning. Had to explain to him that was an ATM machine, not a slot machine. He did enjoy the drinks and have a good time.
