I came away from the CC not feeling real good or real bad about the call.
From a positive standpoint 1. Sanofi and Mnkd have a decent business relationship and the two sides seem to be on the same page. Each partner seems to be doing what they are supposed to be doing towards the product launch and other regulatory matters. 2. Mnkd is producing saleable product. 3. Launch in first quarter 2015 4. Several other Technosphere opportunities are being studied and investigated. Nothing that can be reported at this time.
From a negative standpoint: 1. No positive EPS for a couple of years. (If no earnings, no big cash flow to Mnkd) 2. No information at all regarding sales forecasts or sales expectations. We are left to our imagination. 3. No Technosphere info that we can drool about. 4. Al Mann sounded like they put him out to pasture. He really didn't offer much to the CC, his reading material was monotonous and boring. 5. I dialed in and tried to ask a question. I guess I wasn't on managements preferred questioner list and wasn't called upon to ask a question. I was planning to discuss this whole short interest situation and the naking shorting but they didn't call on me.
So I kind a came away thinking, its gonna be a field day for the shorts tomorrow. But what do I know. The SP was up today.

This so called management group is the probably the worst communicators possible. I don't know why Al puts up with them. They couldn't make it clearly understood how many lines they will have operational 3 or 5? That should be pretty easy but no, too difficult for Matt to handle. They can't say what other deals are in the works, I'm sceptical there are any serious deals. If somebody ran a company that could potentially use the Technosphere technology, they should be hesitant to make a deal with any of these people but Al or wait for an eventual buyout because they will most likely never understand what was being said by the Mannkind people. I believe in both Afrezza and the Technosphere technology and won't sell one share of stock until it's either a blockbuster like most of us believe or a bust. I just wish we had better communication from Mannkind.

However, they really have answered about "other deals in the works" if by that you mean other drugs for technosphere. They have said they are evaluating which technosphere opportunities to pursue. It is simply wishful thinking to try to believe this isn't a clear statement that they are not presently involved in closing a deal. You don't work on deals when you haven't yet decided which new drugs will be the ones pursued. They don't want to engage in speculation until their evaluation process is complete and they've given insight into when that will be. To me that seems fair enough.

Wishful thinking that they aren't forthright in actual deals and won't be for quite some time? That's absurd! If I was to do some wishful thinking I'd wish they were on the verge of inhaled flu vaccine and pain relief for migraines and other pain medications and told us that they are actually looking at something specific not ' we are looking at opportunities.'

I hope whatever drugs the board decides would be in the best interests of the company that this time Al will sign partners BEFORE development and that those future partners, like Sanofi has agreed, will assume much of the development costs.

I certainly hope that MNKD's B.O.D. and Al Mann are smart enough to cherry pick the best prospect for Technosphere and move forward towards a Phase 1 trial with that drug. Surely MNKD will have enough funds to accomplish this. If they don't, we are in major trouble as shareholders. OK, for you new guys just in case you don't know, It's Technosphere and pain drugs. Afrezza profits will supply MNKD with all the future funds it needs to complete trials for these absolute MEGA DRUGS. I still believe that MNKD will be acquired within 1-3 years, if not sooner. Two things are certain, the longer it takes the more it will cost and the honorable Babaoriley will disagree with me.
Spiro here, patiently waiting and trying to ignore the current share price.

You're up late, Spiro, share price keeping you awake? I was unable to follow much today, but I did see a wild spike down early, that's enough to keep a person alert! Geez, here we are with this great product, and we seem to be at the whim of a bunch of crooked market players. There ought to be a law...

Baba, yep, definitely up late again last night, just like Tuesday night. When life is good, you try to enjoy it as long as you can. This time my enjoyment may only last for two years, but I will take it. As for the share price, I was feeling a lot better at market close than the guy who dumped the million shares in the morning. The sharps who bought all those shares on the way down must feel pretty good also. What a gift that was. IMO, MNKD is selling is now selling at way below Black Friday prices. I wonder if SNY picked up a few shares yesterday?
