I understand management selling stock pursuant to "Rule 10B5-1 Plan" and that doesn't always mean anything but Diane is divesting 85% of her 210,000+ shares. Isn't that significant ? Not sure what it means but seems stupid for an insider to sell that much on the eve of what will probably be a huge pay day for Mannkind. So is she just stupid or just being Mannkind management?

Maybe she's leaving the company? I'm honestly not sure what she brings to the table.

I agree, I hope that's it. There are a few others that contribute zip.

I don't think Diane has exercised all her options to buy, so she may still have some more $$$ to take. I do know that the proceeds from one of her recent sales went into a non-profit or charitable trust that she created. For whatever that's worth...

She's a small player in these things. She just needs to go at this point. Hakans was probably just tax maneuvering, small among of his holdings

She always does this. Nothing new. 1 million $ here. 1 million there. The shares keep on coming back for her to sell again. Not a bad strategy so far! Hakans has over a million shares! Wow...

New article, pretty neutral actually, about the selling... 247wallst.com/healthcare-business/2014/12/04/mannkind-sees-more-insider-selling/The last paragraph got me thinking about something non MNKD specific. I know this happens a lot, but how on earth did the word "consensus" ever get started being used to refer to an average of analyst estimates. For MNKD the estimates range from $4 to $16. Ain't no consensus about anything. "MannKind’s 52-week trading range is $3.80 to $11.48, and the consensus analyst price target remains just under $9." Makes it sound like all the analysts have gotten together, worked out their differences and declared that $9 is a fair price. I think with regard to wall street there is a general rule that if you find yourself saying something straightforward, e.g. "average", you must immediately find a way of making it misleading.

Ok, here is what Spiro thinks. Palumbo is not a gambler, owning stocks is comparable to gambling. MNKD gives her over a million dollars in shares, she will not gamble, therefore selling most them the first chance she gets. Now, Hakan is a Riverboat gambler, he likes the action. Now, if Spiro were in Hakan's shoes, he would sell at least 30-50% of his shares and gamble with the rest.

One bit of perspective on this. I was just looking at one of my other big holdings... Apple. During the last six months where the stock has been soaring, going up 25%, there have been 13 insider sells and 0 insider buys.
Many financial advisers now tell people to not have hugely overweight positions in the company they are working for, so that is one common reason people sell.
There is also the very real possibility that back when MNKD insiders put in place these planned sales, they had anticipated that the stock would be riding a post partnership, and run-up to launch high rather than languishing where we now are with the share price. Who knows how many might have decided not to sell if they new we'd be at these prices rather than $10 or more higher. The expectation of the stock shooting up and getting ahead of itself with the ramp to launch only to correct with the initial quarter or two of sales is a plausible scenario they might have been contemplating.

You can look at the WSJ and see insider buys and sells and there are almost always way more sells. Nothing new and not too much to worry about. I could tell you what to worry about, but I don't want to ruin anyone's weekend....
LOL!! My wife and I are off to Carmel this Sunday for our annual "act like a millionaire" trip. We only stay three nights, and we love it there, but my wife wants us to retire there. Not enough to do for me there, and not enough money even to do not enough, unless........ No golf, unfortunately, but will hit the range once or twice. For those of you who have never been, go.

Enjoy the trip - looks like the rain is letting up around here for a few days. Let's hope the stock price follows.

I guess the good news is Palumbo is just about out of shares and options. It also appears her 10b5-1 was set for every 30 days.
I'd have to check what frequency Thompson is on

I'd have to check what frequency Thompson is on I cringe each time I see a 8-K filing since I then wait for shorts to use that as an excuse to sell the stock. So how much does she have left and what prevents MNKD from issuing her more options & Shares?
