Fwiw, I called SNY today. The number is 800 633 1610. I was glad to hear the new options available. Press 1 and see for yourself.
Anyway, I inquired about launch and availability. She took my info, put me on hold, then gave me the following:
"Afrezza is currently available, and we are in the process of talking to doctors. Some of that communication has taken place. Official launch will be sometime in February but I cannot provide a date."
I pressed a bit about it being available and why no mention of it to which she stated: "we generally roll out first to test our supply chain and ensure everything is ok on our end.
Just thought I'd share.

I don't know why but ordinary investors calling up and getting a response from these giant corporations impresses me

I too called up the above number and after putting me on hold for a few minutes, she came back with this response:
"I just got the information update today and you can get Afrezza from high volume pharmacies this week, but starting next Monday Afrezza is readily available everywhere."
This tells me that maybe a few smaller drug distribution warehouses have not gotten their Afrezza supply yet. I don't know the definition of what an "Official drug launch" is but access to Afrezza now and in the coming days is not an issue. I think, like others, would like to see a press announcement from Sanofi of the Afrezza launch more so for additional promotion impact to get the word out even more. With Sanofi having their quarterly CC next Thursday, I would be very disappointed if Sanofi don't officially state that Afrezza is now open for sale.......

I like the way SNY is slow rolling the Afrezza launch. They are giving their Docs a chance to get informed before they go public. Imagine how p'd the docs would be if they went straight to DTC ads before education the medical professionals. I like that they are live testing the supply chain. Who knows, maybe they are waiting until additional production lines are in place before opening the spigot. At some point they are going to blitz the market w/ PRs, presentations, and DTC ads. The competition (and the shorts) won't know what hit them.

I called this number earlier today and the person that I discussed Afrezza with told me the Official launch(PR) would be on Feb. 3. I posted this information on the YMB and is subsequently was pulled down. Does anyone know why they would pull down the post? I was wondering if it was because I posted the toll free number for Sanofi.

I get the impression that post "disappearances" on Yahoo are entirely automated, given the speed at which they occur. If there's something I really want to say there (doesn't happen much these days, if at all), I try variations (spelling out web addresses with "dot com", etc.) until I either succeed or give up.
To give people Sanofi's number, you could say, "search for: contact us sanofi us" for example. They could very well delete any posts with phone numbers.

I really don't have any issue with what Sanofi is doing. There are many on the YMB who have serious mental issues and think they know more about how to do run a company than those actually doing it. The main thing is that Afrezza is AVAILABLE. FINALLY! Let Sanofi do its job in getting the medical profession acquainted with it so that they can see the benefits of the drug and thus Rx it to their patients. I, like many of you, have been patient a long time and that patience still needs to be maintained. Afrezza is now taking baby steps and hopefully we'll see it start to walk and then run. Exciting times are ahead, imo.

Patience and patients. We all want direct-to-consumer advertisements, but I would think Sanofi would want to fully educate physicians to prepare them before creating additional demand through DTC advertising. I have a strong suspicion that even highly skeptical PCP's and Endos will take another look when patients begin to swarm (too strong a word?) them with questions about Afrezza.
If Sanofi's material is as top-notch as we're hearing from those physicians posting about it, the physicians should be ready to handle demand. A huge part of physician buy in, besides the kinetic profile, is going to be "Easy to Learn" and "Easy to Use" and the effect that will have on compliance to insulin therapy.

Good thread. Bottom line, from all I see we're exactly where we want to be. We don't need a bold commercial launch when we have limited supply and uninformed gatekeeper/prescribers. What we need is to simultaneously increase production capacity and inform the gatekeepers.
The space between the the thousands who will ultimately enthusiastically embrace Afrezza and Afrezzauser, who already has, is invisible. Some think it's a wide chasm requiring ingenious marketing to bridge. I think it's a thin curtain, requiring only information, provided by SNY reps and then shared between and among the diabetic community to sweep it away.
I think there will be many Afrezzausers very soon. Most won't be as enthusiastic and committed to spreading the word as Sam. But they will spread the word. And there will be tens, then hundreds, then thousands of them.
The pricing is looking good. The insurance coverage is looking good. Sanofi's handling of this launch is looking very good. I think we're right where we want to be.

a great test would this weekend would be for each of us to stop at a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if they have the product.
If they say they have the product, ask if you can take a picture of the box on the counter.
Then we can post the pictures here from all over the country.
