Let's not forget about institutional buying. They are obviously happy as we should be with Sanofi being in charge of Afrezza. They are sitting back and quietly accumulating all of the cheap shares that the shorts are dumping. I am not an institution! (BTW, just closed AH up a nice even 6% for the day!)

Maybe Sanofi decided to start buying a few shares and announce their 5% ownership tomorrow during earnings? Doubt it, but hey, one can dream right? See you guys in the 7s tomorrow!

Know what happens when everyone gets this giddy, right?

Took a look at the chart, someone hit a 1000 volt "buy switch" just before 2pm EST, and forgot to turn it off. Similar to the day before the official launch release, I believe there's a reasonable chance for news either tomorrow (before or after market close) or Friday morning. Anyone notice any other unusual option transactions, like the massive 20,000 contract transaction for $10 puts recently?
I hoping for Technosphere news.

its okay to be giddy. We've all lived through a lot to get to where we are today. The clouds are lifting, we can see the sunshine again. Winter is over ( if you live in SoCal), more good things are about to happen. Yes, you can call me a PUMPER, if you wish; at this moment I'm proud to be one! It's not often one gets to beat the Wall Street machine, but this time I'm very confident we will.

I think we're all pretty giddy about the good things happening vis a. vis Afrezza, rather than counting our chickens etc... No matter what the PPS does in the short run, continued enthusiastic reaction to a finally available A. is certainly worth celebrating!

I think there may be a surge in buying from retail investors and maybe even institutions now that Afrezza is actually on the market.
My one anecdotal data point is this. My wife is a nurse, and I have told her all I know about Afrezza. She has been asking me about buying MNKD stock for the last 6 years at least. What is it selling for? Should I buy some in my Roth IRA? My position was and still is that she should not. Better that the family as a whole is more diversified than this kool-aid drinking fool. And besides, the amount she is talking about is inconsequential in the big picture for us. Why bother? When she heard that Afrezza was finally available in pharmacies she insisted and bought MNKD.

I was under the impression that the share price need to stay above a certain level for a defined multiday period before it could be forcibly converted. Anyone have input? Numbers would be nice... OOG The 5.75% notes mature on 8/15/15. There is an early redemption feature if the closing stock price exceeds 150% of $6.80, or $10.20, for at least 20 out of 30 consecutive trading days. I don't see much chance of an early redemption, or much benefit in doing so. If the share price is over $10.20, it would be cheaper wait until August and issue 10 million shares to pay back the $100 million in par or refinance by borrowing $100 million.

Or better yet, just pay it back via profits and milestone payments!

Know what happens when everyone gets this giddy, right? Exactly what I was thinking! The giddy-meter is starting to rise again...usually a bad indicator. We haven't even gotten the script numbers yet and if not great then shorts will push the stock down...again. We know scripts will increase (maybe slowly) but lets chill here and wait on buying sports cars, popping champagne or planning Vegas trips!

IMO scripts will be pretty soft until the majority of Insurance companies cover Afrezza. Even if they know about it, most people won't be willing to pay $200+ a month for a new med for those who need insulin but don't like the needle or a replacement of a med that Is currently covered. I'm in second group and have requested my insurance company to review and cover.

Tend to agree with you and I am guilty as charged although I realize in reality with Mannkind, "What goes up... Generally comes down..." Or as a poster on YMB said to quote Kermit the Frog, "It's hard being green..." or in this case staying green... But another truth is that for so long we have been beaten down like a step child of Wall Street that when we get a little love, once we stop flinching we start to embrace it as we begin to remember what it used to feel like... GLTAL's!!!

Considerable trades PM and initial over a million in first 10 minutes. I think it almost have to be institutional buying for there to be that much. If that's true, shorts may have a surprise if they try flash crash, institutions sitting there waiting on them to snatch up their dumping shares. Hope anyway.
