What just happened? Squeeze? Or another teaser ? Or even worst, bear raid setup. I think they are preparing to raid stating, oh first week script data is very weak. Most people won't know that diabetes drugs won't register any meaningful prescriptions in first two weeks. Diabetics don't go to doctors for weekly health checkup. Victoza registered less than 500 scripts at 3rd week. I bet they will compare it with Sovaldi type of hit drug. Well they registered 1000 scripts in second week but the fact that HCV patients are either in hospital or on regular visits to doctors so its quick to initiate patients on the drug.
I hope this is not a trap.

Above 6.7 the convertibles are getting converted. The conv debt overhang is gone away. Some folks who would have shorted thinking MNKD needs to issue shares to pay conv debt may have covered.

I would love to think this was a squeeze, but my gut tells me it is a trap.
I have noticed some increased exposure of Afrezza to the general public; not investor related. So maybe it is gaining some traction. But I still do not think much happens until we see some positive numbers and/or Technosphere news.

I was under the impression that the share price need to stay above a certain level for a defined multiday period before it could be forcibly converted.
Anyone have input? Numbers would be nice...

I have nothing more than gut feeling on this, but i feel as if this movement is tied to the August note. Bank of America and whoever they sold the 9mil shares to would know well in advance of any public announcement.
Again, just a gut feel on this.

I disagree that this move has much to do about the convertible debt. It is an immaterial number in the big picture. In my opinion the news cycle is significantly favoring the longs right now. Shorts have no gunpowder left to drive the shares down. Reality is setting in. Afrezza launched, buzz is happening at the grass roots level, which bears can't effectively counteract right now, pr campaign and advertising campaign coming soon, SNY and MNKD CC next couple of weeks, new products on the horizons. Shorts are weak right now and many are bailing. As mentioned in my previous comments on technical indicators, all technicals are very bullish. Downtrend lines broken, resistance is being easily penetrated. My prediction is higher prices ahead.

I feel that a material portion of this weeks upward movement is the addition of a bunch of docs who have been visited by Sanofi reps in the last few days. I think Sanofi reps directly or indirectly were a big part of the gains from Thursday before last through last Friday, and people with some cash are getting an eye and ear full. If that's the case, then it's double good, cuz not only should these guys have a good feel for when a drug will be successful, they are key in terms of getting patients on the drug. Altruism? Not so much!
I haven't had a chance to look at a chart for today, wonder if the surge in the middle of the day is meaningful, news-wise?

Let's not forget about institutional buying. They are obviously happy as we should be with Sanofi being in charge of Afrezza. They are sitting back and quietly accumulating all of the cheap shares that the shorts are dumping.
